Default How much will 18's hurt my Quarter mile time??

Im looking into ordering OE Wheels C5 DD 18.95 and 18x10.5 with 275 from 305 DR rear. I currently have Chrome 10 spokes that are peeling, thats the reason for looking for new rims. Should I just buy 17x9.5 all the way around or go with the 18 all around. My car runs mid 11's 1.75 60ft with 275 555r. Will the 18's weight difference be dramatic, I know the 18's look better. I've been debating this for days and need to order rims!
Please help
Thanks in advance!

The 18's will look better of course, but 17's will hook better since you'd be able to go with a taller sidewall. It's your decision lol.

OE Wheels are not made for drag racing.

And factory wheels too. I don't think many people have problems, that's the first I've seen out of how many sold, and you never know how he was driving it either. He's not going to come out and say he hit a big nasty hole around a corner, and you can't really tell either way with how bad the wheel is.

The guy is a member of my local forum, he says he was just driving, back of the car started to wobble like he had a flat and then the car hit the ground, wheel rolled past him. Car they are on is stock, never raced.

I think its best to stick with the 17s. Any one have # running 17 vs 18s.

do you guys think 5 inches of sidewall would be enough to hook on a 8-900 HP car? (with suspension work of course)

Default C5 Magnesium Wheels

Buy four 18X9.5 C5 magnesium wheels if you want 18"s on all 4 corners.

18s might not hurt it all too much but OEwheels are heavy. 18x10.5 C5 DD are 27.5 pounds if I remember correctly.

Those weights are surprising to me. For some reason I always figured the C6 Z06 were lighter than the C5 Z06, I guess cause they look like they have less meat on them.

That thread is a big reason why I steered clear of Oewheels.

OE Wheels sells more wheels than probably any wheel vendor on LS1tech, one breaks and it's the end of the world. What wheels will you get? Cause you better not be riding on stockers, you can find stories of those breaking also.
