I've wondering the same thing 1sic.
I have a 275/50-15 nitto now. They've been good enough to break the 10bolt's axle's but only have a best of 1.71 60' with them. Not to mention they seem to be very inconsistant. They do work well on the street, but at the track they leave a little to be desired for a stick car.

I have looked at the Hoosier's also. Both the dr's and the QT's.

The hoosiers are dot approved. Check their web site.

My buddy has a set mt et streets and says they start to get ill at 45mph in the rain.....enough for him to slow to 35.

for sure needs a drag bar lol looks like its going to twist apart lol, i have had g force, mt streets, nittos, the overall best race tire in my mind are the mts, the hook great , but there street life is short lived, the nittos i havent took to the track yet but i feel there a better street tire just because they seem to last longer, there pretty good if you get caught in the rain ,they just require a j.force burnout to get them to stick

My Nitto's seem to be fine. Although they are not the caliber of drag tires the other are.

When buying Hoosiers pay attention the quick time pro is not legal for highway use! The drag radials are though!

My buddy couldn't get a mt to hook on his car. I had a 275-60-15 Mickey T on my mustang and it would 1.42 60' on motor all day long. Different cars react in different ways. He does need some subframes or something on it lol. He wasn't expecting it to come up like that

Hio, I agree its more of a real street tire, I just had a close call on my Mt , was doing 60 started raining hard and before I could slow down I was in 360 mode, that is why I tell everyone to becareful no matter what. My nittos do very well in the rain but I have had far better tires for the track
