Default Pro Stars and Race Stars

I have 15x10 Pro Stars on the rear of my car I'm trying to decide between 17" or 15" Racestars for the front wheels. If anyone has pictures of cars with Pro Stars rear wheels and Race Star fronts can you post them.

I can't post a pic, but I have 15" pro stars all the way around for track duty. They look great, and 15" skinnies are way cheaper than 17" skinnies. Something to think about.

Few pics in the drag setup thread, for sure check 17inch skinny tire prices,ya might wanna think about a 17x7 for street, really there is no benefit over a 17or15 on the street,is there a reason why you wanna switch?outside of looks?

I wonder what the weight difference is between a say 15x7 or 15x4.5 (etc)? I'm also curious if you have to grind the front brakes to fit a 15" wheel, since I had to grind my rear ones even though they were supposed to fit..

It took me 2 seconds to find that picture also. I really didn't like the way the 17's look on that car, I was hoping to see the same setup on a couple other cars to see if liked it on other cars or not.

I'm not worried about street use the car gets driven to car shows and cruise nights less than 1000 miles a year other than that it's at the track. I have 15x3.5" Jegs Sport Star rims right now and they're pretty heavy for a small wheel.

The two things that a light weight skinny will do for you are:

One, reducing unsprung weight. If you have a heavy skinny street rim, your killing the biggest gain right off the bat. Go with a pro star, and not a jegs look alike. Those wheels look good, but are not light at all.

The second thing they do is decrease rolling resistance. So going from a 9" (stock size wheel and tire) to a 7" wheel and slightly narrower tire, is also going to do little if anything.

Stick with a 15" or 17" true light weight, 3.5" or 4" front wheel, and bite the bullet and get a light weight front runner tire. Its really the only way you are going to see any true gains, and be happy with the set up.
