just curious to see if anyone else that has z06 wheels from tomzwheels had any fiting issuses?i bought 17x9.5 for the front and those fit ok and also have 18x10.5 and the wheel hit the bumpstop.anyone else have this problem?what did you guys do i had to buy spacers and of course with that it made the studs even shorter so i couldnt use the lugs that comes with the rims so i had to use temporary ones.anyone know where i can get longer chrome lugs?and with the spacer will it be ok or should i take out the bumpstop? thanks guys

I took out the bumpstops (i am running the same size rims) and havnt noticed any changes. But I also dont know the purpose of bumpstops... lol

did you jack the car up by the axle or the frame???...i just got some too and if you jack it up by the frame they will hit....i also bought 7/32 spacers for the back...

Must support the rear axle to install. That is normal.

That would be correct. When you jack by the frame the axles drop down to a position they will never be in while driving. Put the weight back on the axles.

Spacers are not required. Some minor inner wheel well massaging may be needed.

I cut my bumpstops out. I also hammered the wheel well some. I didn't like the idea of running spacers. My rear wheels are 17 x 11's.

No reason to cut the bumpstop off . . . that will lead to destruction of your shocks.

The reason I cut the bumpstops out is because I always put my car on a two-post lift. When the suspension extends they would hit. The bumpstops themselves were already trimmed way down from when I put the lowering springs on anyways.

thanks guys i ended up after everything taking off the spacers and it seems ok so far,where would i need to hit at with the hammer if i need to?

I dont like the idea of having to jack up the car by the rearend. If the wheels hit the bumpstops thats NOT GOOD. What if you were to hit a bad bump (accidentally of course) and the suspension moved enough for the wheel to come down and hit the bumpstop? Your wheel would be fucked and your tire would potentially be shredded. Maybe thats not much of a concern for those who hardly drive their F-body, but for those who are like me and daily drive theirs,, its definately a good idea to make sure the wheel has plenty of room. I have 18x10.5 C^s in the rear of my car. They hit the bummpstops with the car jack up by the subframe. I installed 5/16" spacers. Not only did it bring the wheel out enough to clear the bumpstop, but the wheel is also not sunken in. which is the case for most corvette wheels on f-bodies.

Unless you peform a Dukes of Hazzard jump with your car, that event will NEVER occur.


But IF you cut off your bump stop, and hit a big enough dip/bump the spring will compress too far, forcing the piston of the shock too far, destoy the shock, and depending on you offset of your wheel, smash the tire into the quarter panel and bending the body work. . . .

So either trim the side of the bumpstop of leave it a alone.

I did not use longer studs or lugs. I was told I did not need them and that 5/16" spacers were the largest you could go with stock studs.

And Xsta Z28, Maybe I'm ****, but i dont like the idea that my wheel could, under any circumstances hit my car. I like things to fit right.

hmm thats cutting it pretty close bro because those lugs arent really catching that much on my studs with my spacers
