Default Will I be pissed? 10" Type R sub rattling

I really would like to get a 10" alpine type r but I have one MAJOR concern.

Will this sub if mounted in a stealth box rattle the car to death? These F-bodies have some low end interior as it is but I jsut dont want **** cracking and falling apart... Anyone got any experience to share? I mean I REALLY dont want to start having to replace peices because **** is coming lose and so on...

If someone can inform me on what I would most likely be looking at that'd be great.

Also will there be in rattle from that stealth inclosure being where its at?

If you begin to experience any rattling components get some dynamat or something similar, it works wonders on the overall quality and feel of our rides.
As for the sub question, its part of my next build once I get the funds around on my new Trans Am, so we'll see I guess lol

Yeah that Dynamat is some nice stuff I guess I could always use that.

Was wanting to know what it would be without dynamat though, the less money I have to spend the easier it would be for me.

i built a stealth box for my SI mag 12 on 1kwrms and doesnt hardly rattle anything. If something does rattle it should be an easy fix. I wouldnt get worried.

I actually do have a question, as far as mounting the Amp what are my options? I will be keeping the spare tire so that space wont work. I would like to avoid drilling holes in the car if possible. Apparently nobody likes using the rear deck, however I like your amp rack but how much does that thing weigh? Also what did you pay for it, my money will be tight without purchasing a rack but we'll see.

I'm running a 10" Type R DVC sub off of a 500w amp in a drivers side stealth box from Kee Audio. It hits hard, but tight. If you're looking for the rap/hip hop heavy boom boom, this sub box is not for you. You'll need a ported box.

However, if you like hard tight bass, then this will not disappoint. Now, I have no rattle, but I also did a professional sound dampening job (every inch of the car is covered in dynamat with a layer of ensolite on top). The likely things to rattle are the taillights, the hatch, and the license plate. However, they can be secured if you stay at it.

when i go to the track i take all of it off i think with the sub and the amps and the rack should be close to 100 lbs.
to mount the amp rack unless your some short of genius
your going to have to drill holes to keep the amp rack in place.
with the amp rack also i cant go to wal-mart and put to many bags in the trunk
but believe i or not it takes much a nice amount of space.

ONE big problem
when you mount the t-tops on the trunk
the one that faces most to the left side will hit the type r sub
if u pick up the bass alot.
i have tried to move the stealth box as far in as possible still hits the t-top
but if you lower the base and the sub wont move so much
it wont hit,
the rack i got it for 115 dollars i believe
but the thing is really simple.
its honestly a piece of wood with holes to fit rear mounted

Check out 6LE he has a different amp rack and it looks nice
if i would have to do another system
i would get the stealth box on the right side
not left.

Sorry if some of this dosent make any sence im kinda hung over .....

I have an Alpine SWR-1042D paired with a Alpine MRP-M500, all stuck in a Subthump stealth box. I have the OEM monsoon speaker setup, as well as the OEM CD changer mounted on the rear shelf. It was all professionally installed and mounted.

I'm not gonna lie, this thing hits. No rattling whatsoever of the interior in side the car. But I do have the same issue as Ws6kid. in that you need to tighten the tailights.

As for mounting, I had it mounted where the T-Tops go, like opposite the 'berger' panel. It stays out of my way that way, and looks really clean.

I also had the same problem as Ws6kid., but what I did is bought a sub cover that protects the sub from damage, so that the T-Tops can rest safely on the cover.
