Default ** Monsoon Sail speaker replacements

What are my options?

I have heard of KEE audio. The link on his site didn't work for me though, is he still a seller?

Are there any other options? Anything I can find at best buy or another store that meet the specs? (6.5", 4 ohm, DVC)

I used some pretty cheap dvc 6.5" woofers from parts-express.com. I had to cut a slot next to the bolt holes in the car to turn those metal clip things perpendicular so the speakers fit in snug. Someone may chime in about name brand this or that is the only way to go, but I think they sound pretty good.

Look at the sponsors on the right of this page, scroll down until you find Kee Audio and then click on it. It takes you right there to his site.

You'll also want to make sure you go through the information in the Monsoon sticky before you get in to things.

I wasn't looking to drop a ton of money on speakers when I needed new ones so I went to Walmart and they sell 6.5 inch 300 watt subwoofers in a box for 29.99

They work well, just give them about a week to get worn in and adjust to the monsoon amp. If you bump them to soon they will blow

^^ This will not work on a Firebird Monsoon. (The speakers are different and more rare/specialized on the Firebird.)

I will definitely eventually get in contact with kee for the complete speaker upgrade.

I'm gonna take a road trip soon, like in 2 days, so I wanted a quick replacement.

I was hoping something at walmart or best buy.... ( but since they are so "specialized", like 4 ohm dual voice coil, etc, ) I wonder if they will have any there.

Damn, that sucks.

Thank you for the response.

I'm really ignorant to all these audio specs...

Can anyone find me some speakers from walmart or best buy etc that will work?
It would be greatly appreciated

if you just want a replacement, check on ebay or craigslist for a used one in good condition. Direct replacement and you know it will sound right.

For the Firebird, you need a 6.5" DVC (Dual Voice Coil) 4ohm sub to replace the sail panel sub-woofers.

I took a quick look on Best Buy's website, but I didn't see anything that fit the bill.

Kee Audio is still a sponsor. Here is the link his f-body speaker packages:

No retailer will sell a plug and play speaker. You have to call Kee. Your situation is why they invented FedEx.
