Default What to Expect...ditched Ms3 for TRAK cam..

Hey guys,
i am almost done with my new setup....
i got a 2x,xxx k '02 LS6 out of my friends z06. It was a cam only ms3 motor that made 441/386 in his car with supporting bolt ons. it ran like crazy n/a and on n20. here are the previous results....https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/489253-02-z06-ms3-lt-s-x-catback-tune-results.html

But as good as it ran, i have had the ms3 before and hated how it didnt have any torque.(that and everyone jumped on the bandwagon after those termin8r vids)
SO....i wanted to swap cams out to the new TRAK cam from thunder racing. I have personally driven my friends car with this cam and its damn impressive...power everywhere...
In a cam only '98 ss m6, he only lost by 1 car to our friends Heads/cam 90/90 m6 car.His car even dynoed high, at 40xhp/377tq on a stingy dyno.

anyways, i decided to go with this after seeing it in action, talking to Johnathan at thunder, seeing PatrickG's results, and seeing that barely anyone has this cam with dyno and track results.

My new setup is in my sig.....

NOW..My question to all you guys is,
what do you think the outcome will be performance wise.cam vs cam
(Dyno and Track) ??

I'm familiar with the performance of a local Camaro owner that has the TRAK cam. I'm very impressed with the way the car ones. I say go for it.

I'm affraid there will not be much better numbers. The difference might be a bit more (under the curve) a little bit.

You are going about it the wrong way, 3.42:1 gears and you complain about low end performance. Get some better gears in and that MS3 will wipe most things in its Tracks. (no pun intended)

Interesting....

I like the 3:42 gears with the auto, and it helps keep the gas mileage up.
I drive about 40 min to work everyday.

The ms3 isnt a bad cam, i just honestly think that this smaller cam will out do it in every aspect.

going from 3.42s to 3.90s in my setup made a world of difference. you will run outta gear faster though atleast I did on a 26in tire and nitrous. I went to a 26in slick and was fine. Losing to another M6 car can be all driver. you prolly shouldve kept the MS3 but thats my opinion.

One thing is for certain, you will pickup torque everywhere on the rpm range

Update on this...
i have had the cam in for about 2k miles now. It has the street manners of a 224 cam and pulls atleast as hard if not harder than the ms3 cam. one thing is for sure though, its got torque all the time!
And this was with my cam position sensor wire all messed up and pulling timing...i just fixed it and the car runs alot harder......going to finish my tune up next friday and get some numbers and track times.
