Hundreds of hot rods, customs, lowriders, and more will be taking part in the Grand National Roadster Show the first weekend of February.

Much of the country is still getting socked with cold temperatures and snowstorms. But things are about to heat up at the 74th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California. There will be more than 500 hot rods on display in the Pomona Fairplex buildings. And they will be joined each day by another 500 to 800 vehicles for the annual Grand Daddy Drive-In. There will be hot rods, customs, lowriders, muscle cars, trucks, and motorcycles on display. Dozens of fantastic custom cars will be competing for some top awards. These include America’s Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) and the Al Slonaker Memorial Award.

The Grand National Roadster Show runs February 2 – 4. On Friday, February 2 the show doors open at noon and stay open until 8 pm. Hours on Saturday are 10 am – 8 pm and Sunday 10 am – 6 pm. The show will be held at Pomona Fairplex, 1101 W McKinley Avenue Pomona, California. Admission for adults is $30 daily and $10 for youth ages 6 to 12. Children under 5 are admitted free. Discounted tickets are available for $28 for adults and $8 for children at participating O’Reilly Auto Parts stores. On-site parking is $10 per car. A small price to pay to see so many incredible machines.

Awards and Special Displays

Nine roadsters will be competing for the AMBR award. First prize includes $12,500. Competing this year will be seven 1932 Fords, a 1934 Ford and a 1932 Chevy. Thirteen hot rods will be vying for the Al Slonaker Memorial Award. Contenders include a couple of Dodge Chargers, some tri-five Chevys and more. In the feature building this year will be a salute to “Street Machines: Then & Now” that will have all sorts of unique street machines from 1955 to today. Other special builds will also be on display. “Kevin Hart’s 1969 GTO built by Detroit Speed and his 1959 Corvette by John Clevenger. Plus, after over 15 years in hiding, see the return of the 1934 Ford ‘Cop Shop Coupe’ built by Tom Prufer and the first-ever Al Slonaker award winner, Bob Reed’s 1909 Ford C-Cab ‘Country Butcher Shop’ truck.”

The 18th Annual Grand Daddy Drive-In will feature hundreds of hot rods, muscle cars, customs, classics and trucks. For $175 you can cruise in your own car for all three days and park in the best spot as you hang out with the crowd. You even get a goody bag and a dash plaque. See a 1969 Camaro get transformed from stock to custom in just three days. There will be a room full of custom vehicles built by legends such as George Barris. Listen to Top Fuelers and Funny Cars fire up in honor of longtime drag racer and Top Fuel owner John Ewald.
