Over the last few years, Cadillac has made a promise to reinvent itself as the global luxury platform it once was. That began with the introduction of the new ATS, the V variants, and the new CT6. However, Cadillac isn’t stopping there. Last week, we told you about Cadillac’s plan of adopting more cars and crossovers into the company’s lineup through the next few years. The plan was hatched to increase the overall market share that Cadillac enjoys. However, according to Johan de Nysschen speaking with Autoblog, Cadillac’s boss, the company isn’t stopping there.

While the next big things will be the new models that will spring up over the next few years, Cadillac is also planning to bring out a slew of diesel-powered cars across its model range. Cadillac currently offers diesels in Europe, but here in the states, we are remiss of oil burning machines.

While de Nysschen hasn’t stated which models will get the diesels and when, there’s a rumor swirling that Cadillac could introduce a V6 turbodiesel for the Escalade range in the very near future. Hopefully though, this won’t be too little too late since Europe is moving decidedly away from gas burning engines all together in favor of EVs. We’ll have to see what the future entails.
