Camaro Z28 Aero Package Undergoes Nürburgring Testing

Do you even grip, bro? That’s what General Motors must be thinking in order to spend the millions of dollars it costs to develop aero packages for road going cars. If these spy shots courtesy of our friends at, Autoblog are true, then we’re in for a treat!

Downforce is a big deal, specially nowadays as production cars keep getting more and more powerful and capable, there’s got to be ways to make them handle better, faster and also—safer. The secret is aerodynamics; and that’s exactly what this Camaro Z28 is seen doing here at the famous “Green Hell,” wearing a mighty aggressive aero package, which costs of a killer front bumper, sprouty side skirts, a maybe deployable rear spoiler, and although not as easy to notice, a massive rear diffuser as well.

The real question is—why? What’s Chevy really trying to accomplish with aero testing overseas. Not only do engineers and designers glued on computers and molding machines day and night cost a gazillion dollars, but then the constant road testing proves that this is legit and not just vaporware. Could they be after the Shelby GT350R? What about a Dodge Hellcat fighter?

The previous generation Camaro completed a lap around the Nürburgring in just 7:37.47, which is pretty darn quick. What could Chevy be aiming for now?
