A Chevy Chevette with 1,500 Horsepower. Say What?
The Chevy Chevette was an absolutely terrible car. It was a horrendous piece of garbage. However, that all changes when you rip out the 85 horsepower factory motor and slap in a 555ci V8 with a pair of 82mm turbochargers. Then, and only then, does it become something absolutely amazing. Something capable of hitting ridiculous speeds due to its now 1,500 horsepower and 2,850 lb curb weight.
What’s even better is that his Chevette is completely street legal, and according to the video description, showed up to the track on a set of off-road spec tires. There, it changed to a set of drag radials and showed up almost the rest of competition. The Chevette made them look as if they were standing still.
It’s loud, it’s brash, it’s ridiculous to see a Chevette pop a wheelie. Seriously, what is the world coming to when someone decides to throw a massive V8 into a Chevette.
