With the Hennessey Venom GT now making 1,451 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged V8 motor, Hennessey is considering taking a new direction after it debuts the even more powerful Venom F5 coming very soon.

With that in mind, Hennessey is contemplating taking the hypercar to an electrified future. Speaking with Top Gear, John Hennessey stated that the company that bears his name, is looking into an all-electric version of the hypercar with possibly 1,000 horsepower from a plethora of electric batteries.

“We’re considering doing something with electricity. We’ve looked at it and I’ve got friends in that field.” However, further into the talk, Hennessey stated that battery technology would have to improve for the company to truly pursue that route.

What is interesting is that Hennessey stated the company definitely wasn’t looking into hybrid technology like the rest of the hypercar community. Hopefully though, he doesn’t stop making internal combustion Venoms any time soon.

Would you all like to see a fully-electric Venom? Or is that just too out there?
