Improved Racing Products has just released their new crank scrapers for the LS and VORTECH series of GM V8 engines. The Orlando, Florida based company is known for their high quality products that help control engine oil control in high performance engines. The two models, the EGM-300 (for the 1998-2002 LS1) and EGM-301 (for 3.622” stroke LS and Vortec V8 engines) are both made of high quality steel that are zinc plated for corrosion resistance.
Both the EGM-300 and the EGM-301 work with factory and Improved Racing oil pan baffles and also work with the factory windage tray. The EGM-300 actually goes a step further and has extra baffling to help control windage at the first two cylinders where the factory tray misses it.
Typical gains in horsepower are seen in the 2 to 4 horsepower range thanks to windage loss reduction, but the gains on oil starvation reduction and parasitic drag are where the crank scrapers shine. Improved Racing Crank Scrapers come with a Lifetime Warranty and are made in the USA.
