Jet Car C7 Corvette Speed Boat

Ever dreamt of driving across the water like James Bond in a C7 Corvette? We’ve got some great news for you, and it’s called Jet Car!

Alright, maybe it isn’t too familiar a dream for folks to wish they had the opportunity to drive a C7 Corvette across the top of the water like a boat. Technically, that isn’t really what’s going on here, either. However, with the styling very clearly based on the C7 Corvette, you can get pretty dang close with this thing. The one downside of this wonderful piece of machinery called the Jet Car, though, is that it doesn’t share the same powerplant as a C7 Corvette. Sorry, V8 lovers, you’ll have to go without.

According to Motor1, Jet Car is available for both purchase and rental in Miami, Florida. Let’s be real here, too. It makes so much sense that this kind of activity would go down in Florida. It’s the land of the retiree cruising in the convertible Corvette year round, after all. So, this adds up perfectly. So, you’re probably wondering, how much does it cost to get behind the wheel of the Jet Car?

Jet Car Is Surprisingly Affordable to Rent!

Save for the orange one pictured above with the goofy tiny wing that appears to be put on backwards, the styling of these things is more than enticing. You’d think a massive price tag would come with it, but that’s actually not the case! According to Motor1, the cost to rent the Jet Car is $350 an hour with a minimum rental time of one hour. Honestly, that’s probably not far off the price of renting any other exotic or speed boat. So, that seems pretty reasonable.

Motor1 says you can purchase them for between $46,000 and $55,000, depending on engine hours. The Miami Elite Watersports website shows that you must put down a non-refundable $500 deposit to secure the pre-order of your Jet Car. They come with functioning headlights, tail lights, a navigation system (yes, seriously), a Bluetooth sound system, and even windshield wipers!

$55,000 is enough to buy an actual C7 Corvette. Maybe, though, you’ve got a C7, and you’ve got the money to have a water-friendly version too. In that case, here’s your perfect solution!

The one gripe we have with the Jet Car is that it doesn’t have V8 power. Instead, it uses a 1.8-liter high-output Yamaga four-cylinder marine engine. Yes, a four-cylinder. We know, we know. We were sad, too. If someone could fit an LS in a jet ski, they could have easily put one in this!

However, the whole shebang only comes in at 1,200 pounds. So, that mighty little four-cylinder powerplant is enough to propel the Jet Car to 65 MPH on the water. Not too bad!

Overall, these things look like a blast, and we’d definitely consider renting one on a Miami trip. Undoubtedly, it will make a fun toy for many Corvette and sports car enthusiasts!
