‘LS1Tech’ Feels the Thunder of LS Fest 2022
On a Long Enough Timeline, Everyone Goes to LS Fest
Away from the races, LS Fest 2022 gave LS fans a chance to take in a few builds from vendors and participants alike. It’s the only place where you can see Corvettes, square-body C10s and Firebirds chill alongside Mustangs, Volvos and Subarus, all united by the iconic LS V8 family.
Among the big builds at this year’s LS Fest was TredWear’s Transslammed, a ’77 Pontiac Trans Am IMSA GTX ride based on a C5 Corvette Z06 that took two years and $17,000 to build. The LS6 sends nearly 500 horses through a T56 transaxle to the wide 12 x 18-inch American Racing wheels and low-profile Continental Extreme rubber out back. According to MotorTrend, the ride’s been on the 2022 Hot Rod Power Tour, and manages 24 mpg on the open road.
Whether fans were there for the excitement on the track or for the various rides surrounding the action, LS Fest 2022 had it all, including admission to the amusement and water park itself on Saturday. How many other shows do you know have all that? We can’t wait for LS Fest to come around again next year, whether in Las Vegas, Texas or Bowling Green.
