2,000 Horsepower Fourth-Gen Camaro

With 25 pounds of boost flowing through it, this wicked fourth-gen Camaro puts up eye-popping numbers.

We’ve seen our fair share of modified, high-power fourth-gen Camaro builds over the years, including some that crank out well in excess of 1,000 horsepower. That’s obviously a pretty hefty mark by anyone’s standards, save for perhaps those that race professionally, for a living. In that case, more juice is needed to keep up with or dominate the competition, and this fourth-gen Camaro built by PSR Performance for the folks at Horsepower Brothers has plenty of that, if nothing else.

In a recent dyno session documented in this video, we can see this wicked build make a few runs in a very short span of time, with power creeping up with each and every rip. At first, the twin-turbo, big block Chevy-powered machine lays down 815 horsepower and 624 pound-feet of torque – but that’s with a mere 1.8 psi of boost flowing into it. On the next rip, they crank things up and the result is more power, to the tune of 950 horsepower and 665 pound-feet.

The boost just keeps getting dialed up more and more, and on the third pass, this Camaro rips off 1,041 horsepower and 735 pound-feet, breaking the four figure mark without breaking a sweat. It follows that up with a massive jump, laying down 1,773 horsepower and 1356 pound-feet of torque, which would make just about anybody happy. However, that isn’t the case here, because we have to keep going to see what this wicked build is truly capable of.

With 25 pounds of boost crammed into this Camaro’s big block heart, that result is a pretty incredible 2,025 horsepower and 1,659 pound-feet of torque following a dramatic “launch” using the trans brake. It’s unclear what that will translate to on the track, as the owner is currently shaking down his new build and figuring things out by the looks of it. However, this purpose-built racer should ultimately lay down some eye-popping numbers, or at least we’re confident enough to wager on that result, anyway.
