If there is a man to idolize as an up and coming engineer or even mechanic, it is “Smokey” Yunick. Henry “Smokey” Yunick, famous for his innovations in NASCAR, automotive performance, and several patents we take for granted today, it’s hard to believe he did not have an engineering degree.

He didn’t even have his high school diploma due to the death of his father at sixteen but the man was a genius. What better way to pay tribute to one of the best damn mechanics of all time by building a 1968 Camaro that even he would be proud of?

Well, not all of us are able to build such a vehicle, however there is a chance to but it instead. In Oakland County, MI, there is a Craigslist ad for such a vehicle right now.

This 1968 Camaro is equipped with a Tremec T56 6-Speed manual that is driven by a small block Chevy V8. The displacement isn’t listed but it comes with a Holley 650CFM carburetor, cam, girdled lifters, a performance intake manifold, and headers that feed into a Flowmaster exhaust.

The classic looking and wide wheels wrap around a set of Wilwood disc brakes and grip is provided by BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. To fit that setup, the body has been widened at all four fenders.

The current owner claims that this is a rust free, southern-Michigan car. If you have about $29-thousand to spend, you can have a great tribute to the best damn garage in town’s owner.

It’s certainly a looker.
