Strode

Over 1,000 horsepower from a supercharged LS3 is just the beginning of the Strode 1969 Camaro story written by Ringbrothers.

SEMA is so jam packed with amazing vehicles that you quickly become jaded. Oh, look another 1,000 horsepower LS-swapped restomod. Ho-hum. But then something comes along and it stops you in your tracks. That is what happened to me as I approached which looked like from a distance like another restomod Camaro. And it is, but it is also so much more. First of all, it is a Ringbrothers build. Immediately that demands that the vehicle is given a closer look. It is upon that closer inspection that I realized just how incredible this Strode 1969 Chevy Camaro really is.

The build is just impeccable. Of course, it looks fantastic, but the build goes far beyond looks. Everything has been touched. The drivetrain, exhaust, suspension, wheels, brakes, and electrics were all modified as part of this build. Coordinating all that work into a cohesive package is not easy. But this is not the first rodeo for Ringbrothers.

Drivetrain

LS3

The party starts under the hood with a Wegner Automotive LS3 boosted with a 2.9L Whipple supercharger. It is fueled by a Holly Dominator fuel management system. The result is 1,010 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Bowler Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission. At the rear is a John’s Industries 9-inch with TruTrac and 3.55 gears. Exhaust is dealt with by custom Ringbrothers headers and a Flowmaster exhaust with Super 44 Series mufflers.

Suspension

1969 Camaro

The chassis is a Detroit Speed Engineering hydroformed subframe and in the front is a Roadster Shop Fast Track suspension with a independent rear suspension. QA1 MOD series coilovers are at the corners and Detroit Speed Engineering provides the sway bars. The wheels are from HRE and they are wrapped in super low profile 295/25R19 tires up front and massive 345/30R20 tires out back. Peaking through the wheels are six-piston Baer brakes.

Design

Interior

With all the above work this car can go, so now let’s talk about the show. The car is painted in Ghost White. Inside is custom upholstery, and a set of Dakota Digital gauges. Vintage Air will keep you cool. And if you want to just cruise and listen to some tunes you can do so on the JL Audio system using a Kenwood receiver. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a whole laundry list of Ringbrothers parts including the billet steering wheel, and carbon fiber exterior mirrors.

The Result

Strode

All you need to do is look at the pictures and you can see the result. Sadly I didn’t get the opportunity to drive this creation but I would be willing to bet that this Strode 1969 Chevrolet Camaro drives every bit as good as it looks. And it looks incredible. Ringbrothers built another lust worthy car that even when surrounded by the impressive vehicles at SEMA manages to standout.
