TVS2300 Blown Firebird Formula Lays Down 719 hp and 678 lb-ft: Video Inside

Not long ago, the likelihood of adding a positive displacement blower to a fourth generation F-body was slim to none. But thanks to persistent F-body fans, companies like Hawks Third Generation Parts (I know, I’m on a roll with their cars, but come on, they’re killer!) now make installing a TVS2300 blower on your fourth Gen. an attainable task.

Sure you still have to trim the cowl for clearance, but in return you’re rewarded with gobs of torque, as proved by “Sally.” She’s a Formula Firebird with the heart of a 6.0 LQ4 motor with AFR 225 heads, a custom blower camshaft, a Magnuson TVS 2300 blower and a Nick Williams 102mm throttle body. All that twist travels through a Level II T56 transmission, a Ram Powergrip HD clutch and into a Hawks 8.8 rear-end before reaching the ground to the tune of 719 hp and 678 lb-ft. The 700+ horsepower figure is impressive, but the diesel like torque peak with an equally flat torque curve brings new meaning to the term, “Tire Frier!”

Have a look at the build and listen to it scream on the dyno!
