What's the best way to get oil out of carpet and cloth seats? My wife bought a gallon of motor oil and left it in her truck and it ended up tipping over and soaking in everywhere. This was about a month or more ago and she is still having oil residue after trying to soak it up and vacuum. What's the best procedure and products to use please?

Do you have a carpet cleaner for the carpets in your house? One with a hand tool?

I think for motor oil the best way to go is find someone with a professional extractor. Motor oil is hell to get out. I had some 80w90 spill in the back of my blazer. I never could get it out. I had to replace the carpet.

Nope I do have a small carpet steamer that is a POS though and didn't help with anything.

Update to this.. I had Stanley Steemer come out and address the issue. Before they came out I removed the front and rear seats and pulled up the carpet. Thank god I did that as there was about 1/8" of standing oil on the floor pan and all soaked into the sound deadening. The guys did a great job cleaning the carpet and I'm going to use some old U-haul furniture padding to make new sound deadening lol. Thanks for the tip LilJay.

That's great man. I had never thought about calling Stanley Steamer. That's a good thing to know in the future. Definitely a great idea pulling the seats.

I am looking to buy some wax to put on top of BFWD and was curious what your opinion is the best combination with that? The vehicle is a 2012 silverado if that helps any.

Try the Blackfire Midnight Sun wax on top of it for some crazy gloss. Just make sure you give the BFWD 24hrs before you top it with wax.

Do you have any experience with the new black ice hybrid wax from blackfire? Or would your recommendation still be with the midnight sun?

You can use the M16 as a topper over the BFWD if you'd like with no adverse effect. Try it out on a section and see how you like it beforehand, and if you like the results, go ahead and do the whole car. Personally, I use the BFMS over BFWD and the results are always stunning. As Gofast stated above though, make sure you give the BFWD 24 hrs before you apply the M16.

I've used it, and it spreads nice and thin, wipes off easy, and has a nice gloss to it. Is it worth the $150 price point? I'm not sure.

I literally just did a full decon/correction on a 2013 Tauras SHO black metallic paint, and noticed zero difference (looks wise) between the Midight sun vs. Black Ice. Just my $0.02

FWIW, the above car was decontaminated, polished, washed, BFWD (two coats over a 48 hr span, then half the hood waxed with midnight sun, the other half with black ice. Car looked amazing, but I couldn't tell you any difference between the two sides, even in the bright sun.

For the $150 price point, you can do better imho. Zymol Glasur comes to mind, and it's 2/3 the price..

I can post a pic of a Redfire Metallic Focus this weekend that I'm going to be using the BFWD/BFMS combo on. I would post a pic of my T/A, but it needs a good wash and detail again. Damn birds love clean black cars...

Alright thanks. I think I will try it on a panel and if I like it I will do the whole car. If not Ill get the BFMS for next time .

There is no specific time for bfwd. Some people leave it 2 hours, some leave it 24 hours. Be sure to let it at least 24 hours after you wipe it off if you plan on topping it with a 2nd BFWD coat.

You will see better results and performance the longer you leave it on. There's not really much difference between 1-3 hours but there is after 8-10. Even if you aren't going to top it or layer it leave it on as long as you can.

Ok I can leave it on for a full 24 hours so I can remove it just in time to take to the beach for the 4th. What benefit will I see with a 2nd coat, longer protection, a better look?
