I have some light marring on my car right now (black) and i plan on correcting it in the spring. Here is what I currently have in my arsenal.

M101
Menz Intensive Polish
Menz Final Polish
Menz 85rd (buddies, but he will lend it to me)

For pads:
LC 4" Orange
LC 4" White
3M White
3M Gray *both 6+ inch rotary pads*

Tools-
Makita Rotary
PC 7424

I know the hood has a real tough clear, so IP by Menz will do the trick. Would you say Menz FP should be enough, followed by 85RD as a last step? My friend is *convinced* that FP+85RD will clean the car up just fine?

Love the thread and your vids junkman.

This spider webbing seems to be getting worse, can you list what you would do to fix it?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WlF7...e_gdata_player

Really want to fix it myself but am a newb. Thanks

That's a pretty good start. But I would ditch the Menz IP and replace it with Menz SIP....better working time, less dust, more cut, and finishes down better on harder clears like on our cars. Also for the same reason, Menz 106FA would be a better choice than FP. 85RD is a MUST on black.

You got M101?? Very nice. I know many pros who are having trouble getting it! Thankfully I have a little on hand for when I go into RID "Hunter-Killer Mode."

Thank you very much, I really appreciate the kind words. Are they swirls or actual cracks like shown in the video below? Warning....take it easy with the 105 on/near edges. It has a LOT of cut so be careful.

Those are flex cracks in the paint. That can't be detailed out, must be repainted.

That's way beyond anything a newb can tackle. That's going to need professional intervention.

What i would do is try to find a bumper thats in good shape. There are part out cars on here all the time. Get a 50 dollar bumper with no cracks. Then get it painted.

There's nothing wrong with his bumper, the paint is just cracked. No need to replace the bumper. Mine was cracked a lot worse than that after my wreck. I just fixed it.

SORRY- M105! OK so if I am following you correctly for my next Menzerna Line up, it should look like this??

Menz SIP
106FA
85RD

Out of the three polishes above, which one can I use for a quick annual clean up?

Oh ok....I was gonna say! Industry pros in the States are having a hard time getting it, so I was pretty surprised to see it in your list....though sometimes people do have connections. Btw, M101 is the ish! Loving mine

That is THE lineup for hard clears and finishes down to a redonkulous gloss....that's right....redonkulous. Might need M105 to hammer out some of the deeper scratches, but your combo looks good. Pair it with some orange, white, and black Lake Country pads and you're good to go.

I was going to do Forgestar F14 wheels, Michelin Cup tires, C6ZR1 brakes (iron rotor version, not carbon ceramic..so its only 5k instead of 8k), and some coilovers..... but I've decided to just get the new set of tires matched up to the rear (its on mismatched tires right now ) and leave it as is. Want to buy a house in the fall and MAYBE step into a C6Z....

Thank you- and one last thing I wanted to ask you was about pads. Right now i'm rockin' some 4" LC pads for the PC, but for the rotary I have the 3M pads and was wondering if I should just get the blue 3m finishing pad for the 85rd?

The 3M pads I have are white and gray *white for the more cut, and gray as a follow up. Torn in between if i should stick with the 3M pads or go all LC....

The 3m blue should be fine for 85RD. I prefer LC pads, they are pretty much the industry standard for pro detailers.

I prefer smaller pads for better control. I like the 5.5" pads.
