Re-tinting windows. What percent??
I'm going to re-tint my windows on my SOM Camaro SS and I was wondering what everyone thought I should go with. Should I go 5% around or lighter??

What is som?
I just got my red ta done today in 25%. Getting the windshield done Friday in 45%. That's plenty dark for me plus it's a nice clean look. At best you can only see a shadow inside the car.

My Mustang is tinted just beyond the legal level of 25% all-around. My car is 20%. You still can't really tell who's driving because it's too dark. My wife drives my car all the time and people think it's me when they see it out and about. I also had my windshield (front) done at 50% to further reduce UV light inside the car, and it worked wonders keeping the FL heat out. I've been stopped by cops (no tickets thankfully!) and they weren't interested even slightly in the illegal tint.
My wife's truck is done at 10% and you can't see a damn thing at night. Personally, I wouldn't go any darker than 15, preferably 20%.

Ryan- I have 5% in the back and 35% on the sides and I hate the different shades of tint. I also have 5% all around on the civic and it's dark as f*ck, but I love it. You're right about the cops giving a reason to F with us. Decisions...

You guy's are lucky to tint at all, up here in Northern Sask canada it is totally illegal, so no tint at all and just a few years ago we could. Gota hope for a cloudy day to look tinted, haha.
