I've been following this thread for a long time now even though I didn't own an f-body anymore. Just was really cool to see how has been coming together. Best part is I'm back into another f-body I'm in for one as well. Can't wait!

That does look really cool. Maybe I missed it in all the other posts, besides looking good what other functions will it do?

Talking What can it do...

What it still does:
  • display total mileage
  • display trip mileage

New functions:
  • current speed in large digits
  • trip total time
  • trip average speed
  • current time
  • outside temperature
  • audible ice warning
  • heading (if a compass module is attached)
  • drive external LED strings for custom illumination

This is what the current F-body firmware supports, but the hardware supports a lot more (which the firmware doesn't yet support!), e.g. hooking up a GPS or CAN enabled hardware like radios or ECMs. Yes, even an OBD2 to CAN bridge is conceivable, but what should be displayed without cluttering the small screen, that is the question!

It can be mounted wherever you want it. In the 4th gens case it was designed to mount in place of the LCD odometer. It drops in the same cradle the lcd sits in without mods. Due to it being being larger the clear plexiglass the gauge face sticks to and the gauge face itself needs to be slightly enlarged though.

Thanks for the clarification. If this OLED will support other data parameters and beyond without much fuss it'll be worth it nearly at any price.

Like myself there's others that will want to know what the ballpark figure as to price range?

PM sent...

I want to make another last minute change to the boot loader though, I am waiting for input from Derek on this, but apart from that I have the two beta unit sets ready for shipping!

Default Done!!!

New boot loader icon and SW version: now the progress indicator doesn't get cleared anymore as different parts of firmware are loaded. This is convenient to monitor how splash, background and software fill the memory...

Well, I think I'm officially done! I'll get packing material tomorrow and get two packages ready...
