Anybody install these in their 4th Gen F body? If so-Did they fit? What was required to bolt them in correctly? Thanks in advance. PICS PLEASE.

If you search there is a lengthy thread on the subject from a couple years ago. Someone measured and they should fit, but I don't believe anyone ever actually did it. Clean leather ones are just too expensive.

Some people have manage to install GTO seats in a 4th-gen f-body. It was a tight fit. The 5th-gen seats and GTO seats are taller and thicker in addition to being wider compared to 4th-gen seats.

I just did a quick search for "GTO Seats" and found these:

Usually when you upgrade your seats you have two things in mind:

1. Comfort

2. Weight Reduction.

Upgrading to the Gen 5 seats or a 99% of any other OEM seat they would only accomplish #1. They may be Recaro, but they are a heavy PIG of a seat.

For the money, you can find a number of different aftermarket seats that will bolt right up.

We're in the process of making the new Z28 seats from scratch. No airbag crap and LESS weight than factory seats. Bolts right in with our brackets.

They are going in my Silverado and Gil's GXP but we've kept the bases "generic" so they'll go in anything (with brackets made).

Should have pics in a couple weeks. Frames are done and at upholstery, still waiting on the tooling for the plastic molds though (for the harness guides).

Lol because Gil bitches at me (and rightly so) for always getting excited and posting shitty pictures before we get the product finished. I figured there was no "6" "L" "E" tag in here so he wouldn't find it... then I remembered he searches my posts

So.... yeah. So far so good but not even close to pic time yet. We're going to offer a base model: all black HIGH QUALITY LEATHER (these seats are our first attempt at 100% making our own quality seats like Recaros but without the $4k price tag) with black suede inserts.

Then from there you can change the stitching color, add embroidery and even seat warmers.

With the cost of making everything ALMOST from scratch in the states we're still around a Recaro Seat price (talking Sporster, not the $4k Z28 seats) BUT more features (built in seat belt loop, harness grommets, etc... all JUST like the Z28 seats) so MSRP will be around $1500 for the pair (again though that's expensive leather, we can offer vinyl versions) but if we can get a GP going of 10 we can order the materials in bulk and it will be cheaper. Probably around $1200 for the pair if we get 10.

Basically, for the same price people were paying us to reupholster our 6LE seats, if there's a GP of 10, you can get Z28 style seats that are lighter (barely, but still...) than stock and look sick as hell...

For the price of 5th gen "leather" seats and the work that will go into making them fit, try after market seats.

Corebeau lg1 is great, can get inflatable lumbar support or heated seats.
Pair of seats with add ins and brackets can be had for price of 5th gen seats.

C6 seats fit the profile pretty well. Gto seats are wide as are 5th gens. I have my c6 seast working in my car and they are similar in width just sit a tad taller than the stock ones but all power functions work and you can find them without the airbags and all that bs

Mark what about plans for matching covers for the rear? I'm close to having some seat covers made out of high end materials but I do like the idea of new seats up front. Just couldn't get new ones without something to match the backs..

Omg I'd love to have a quality pair of seats that just bolt in. Can't wait to see these done as my leather seats are starting to wear out bad from daily driving.
