Default tried wet sanding my headlights didnt work

I did the ole wet sand my headlights to clean them up but now it looks worse.

I used 400, 800, 1000, 1500 and 2000 grain. It got the film off but now it has a light cloud on the lense. I polished the lens (w/Plastic X) after sanding and it helped but its still cloudy. Any suggestions ?

Go to harbor freight and buy there multi speed high speed polisher I think it is $29.99. I have a big wool Malco pad on mine and have done numerous headlights. I use another Malco product called rapid cut but it is just an agressive compound. Unless you rub really hard and fast they will just look cloudy without the high speed polisher.

i used the 1500, plast x, then 2000, plast x, then 2500 and plast x and after every wash and they look clear as day. takes time to do it. I have spent about 5 hours total on mine. I'm sure there are faster ways but it keeps me out of the house.

I did the same thing and it didnt work, just left the headlights cloudy as said above. The best temporary thing that works for me is tire shine, makes the headlights on my car look good till the next wash.

Agreed with "The Chop Shop". You will need something high-speed like the polisher he suggested to get rid of the cloudi-ness. Good luck.

A high speed polisher and and 3M medium cut compound. You guys waist your money on plastic specific polishes that any regular 3M compound will do twice as well.

The same goes for the high temp aerosol paint, its junk.
