How many tenths would a vig3200 give over a vig2800?

With traction, the 3200 is about 1.5 tenths better than the 2800 in a stock motored LS1. In a hot heads/cam LS1, the upgrade is worth closer to 2 tenths.

A couple years down the road, when I get a stageII heads and cam set up, will my vig 2800 stall higher than 3200? I am just trying to decide wether or not to change my converter down the road. I do want more from a roll but I was hoping H/C ,LS6 intake, a pully and other mods will take care of that.

yeah those other mods will take care of that power for ya. You gotta figure each mod is going to increase your torque even more. So I think you should be fine with the 2800.
Thats what i got!!
I have raced a 3200 and it didn't have no more kick than mine!! I don't believe there is .5 difference between the two!!

I just sent my vig2800 in to have it re-stalled to a 3200. I was cutting consistent mid 1.6s with the 2800 on a bolton car. I am hoping to see high 1.5 to low 1.6s with the 3200. I will have the converter back early next week and I should be able to put it back in time to go race on the 15th. I will post the difference between the two.

In your opinion, how much of that 1.5 tenths is from the better 60 Ft & how much is from the higher shift extension?

Back in the day when I was cutting 1.52 60's with my 2800 vig. My buddy Larry Sample kept trying to get me to upgrade to a 3200 (really a 3800) he said it would be worth a tenth.
2nd question:
Yes, as you add power to the motor, the torque converter will stall higher.
