Question Vig 3200 Stall, Who's got them?

I'm starting to look at Stalls for my '02 WS6. I'm going to do h/c with a 90/90 set up and possibly spray in the futur. I'm currently on my stock gears, which I believe to be 3.23's (correct me if I'm mistaken). Car has barely over 23k miles on her. The car will be mostly street/show and the occasional track runs. What are your thoughts on this converter? Likes/dislikes? Sudjestions?
TIA
Steele

I'm looking for a stall too...
Your car has 3.23 gears if you have GU5 with the other codes on the door.

All A4 WS6's came from the factory with 3.23's. PI underrates thier stalls so that one really flashes about 3600 rpm's. But that sounds like the perfect stall for your plans.

The only other stall I might look into is a Yank SS3600. It's basically the same stall but Yanks tend to be a little more efficient then Vigs so you might get a little better trap speed out of it.

But if that isn't a concern for you then the Vig3200 has an excellent reputation for being a solid and durable performer.

Good luck.

No problem. Yank sells the SS3600 for $675 and here is the link for thier website since you can only buy it through them:

http://www.converter.cc/converters/street/GM/1/main.htm

I know Vig3200's usually sell for about $699 so I would call yank. But if you're intersted here is a sponsor that sells Vigs

Good luck.

I ran a Vig 3200 in my truck for a while. I liked it while it was in there... I have since swapped up to a Yank SS3600.

Which do you like more? Performance and driveability wise?

I tried doing a search on shift extensions between the two. I have found that the SS3600 is around 4800 at stock shift points but have found nothing on the Vig3200, does anyone know? I know Yank's SS have a high extension but how much higher than a similar Vig?

my buddy's vig was 3200 and he sent it back and had it restalled to 3600. the thing thats better about vig is, if you dont like the stall speed you originally got, they offer one free stall speed change.

I have a vig 3200, in a lt1 though. Docile on the street but nice at the track. Ls1 cars seem to do better with a bit of a larger stall.

My Vig 3200 was a kick *** verter for the DD/street. On my car it pulled a 1.52 sixty (full weight, last year). Had no trouble with it until it ate itself (taking my tranny with it)...Now I'm putting a Yank back in (just because I can't see buying another 3200)...Still have to rebuild the tranny as the pan is full of metal from the converter... I believe my extension (when mostly stock, eg. small cam) was 4750ish rpm with 6300 rpm shift points.. When I raised my shift to 7k the extension was 5200rpm... You can see theres not a exact direct correlation. Something like, torque at the point where the verter stops stalling to (Yank can explain that one better). Anyway, my PI had 15K+miles and 30 or so, drag passes, so, I'm happy with it. But, I'm going back to something that has never failed on me....

VIG and Yank Thruster Pro (so, far)

The SS line is very tight. My friend has a SS3200 in his Vette with cam and heads + 6liter. Flashes to 3400rpm with that...So, yeah they are as rated for stock engine. I'm going with a SS3600 which will probably flash to 4100 in my car...You can not go wrong with a Vig or Yank. My problem (although bad) is not the norm for VIG's....Vig under rates their stall though, and a SS3600 or Even SS3800 is what a VIG 3200 will stall like. I've also heard good things about "Edge" along with some of the other brands that guys pimp here...

Great info, thats why I love this site. I'm starting to lean toward the Vig more but the Yank is climbing fast. Who else wants to put their info in on this?
