480HP with better then Porsche 911 performance for $57K sounds great. I expect to see 650+HP BPU GTRs in the future...

i think its def the new japanese supercar and its going to give the american car companies a run for their money. 530bhp twin turbo setup. buy TB exhaust intake and boost controller and you'll probably putting close to 600 to the wheels. and i think it will be pretty light.

How about not at all.

$94,000 for a 530HP GTR.
$70,000 for a 505HP Z06.

Easiest decision ever.

$24,000 for an extra 25HP, alot of fancy aero equipment and AWD.

Oh wait, we have to make it fair and Twin Turbo the Vette, so basically add that extra $24k price into it for the turbo kit and you get a 530HP GTR versus a 1000+HP Z06.

Most people will be looking at it like this...

$57,000 for a 480HP GTR
$72,000 for a 505HP Z06

I think a lot of people will be looking at it like this as well...

$41,000 for a 500HP Shelby GT500
$57,000 for a 450HP GTR EDIT: C&D quoted it at 450 as opposed to the above 480.
$72,000 for a 505HP Z06 that kills Ferraris and Lambos and Porches. I'm sure they'll see the Z06 as a level or two higher than the the GTR.

I guess my original picture host died so i've rehosted the pics...

Also keep in mind that the GTR has already ran a 7:41 around the Nurburgring making it faster then the Z06 and it hasnt even hit show room floors yet...

I think it looks nice. However, I would rather have a C6. The C6 will get bumped to 450HP soon enough. It is RWD and has less drivetrain loss than AWD. Also the C6 weighs less than the GTR...thus states the information we have here. The GTR will be very modable...but so is the C6. However, the GTR is a very sweet machine...just not my style.

How could it possibly be that light?? It would have to be using very exotic materials everywhere being TT/intercooled AND AWD. Unless ol' Nismo will be LOSING bigger bucks on EVERY one sold than TOY lost on every MKIV TT sold. That combo, at that weight, CANNOT be done on the cheap (i.e.; without aerospace materials/construction). Perhaps we should take either the projected weights OR the projected costs with a grain of salt??

94k GTR - 530hp

or

100k New unholy vette - 600+hp

by the time the new GTR comes out c6 z06's will have dropped in price (for used). Id rather spend the money on a vette.

the GTR looks like it will be decent, but Im gonna pass on it. plus a base price of 50k+ seems like a lot for the whole tuner market thing, I thought they always talk about they want to spend less money and stuff.

I'd imagine it will perform well but won't sell very well here. Most people won't understand what it is, because truthfully it has no history here in the states. I'd imagine that it will perform similarly if not slightly better than a C6 LS3 but the vette costs $44k versus $57k. Not to mention various chevy incentives and decent financing every now and then. The GTR however will likely get markups and limited availability. It will have a market here but not a big one.

I like the car's powertrain but the body is starting to look rediculous. Way too overdone with the vents and ports. Just doesn't have the class of a C6. The way I see it, most middle aged men (or younger wealthy types) either buy a vette because A. its a vette B. its a status symbol of achievement in some respects C. theyve dreamed about it as a younger kid D. they want performance for less $$

Then if they dont want the vette they get a porsche. End of story. The GTR doesn't really fall into any of this...

still hats off if they can release the 500+hp version weighing less than 3250lbs with AWD.

It will "sell" very well here, to the ing ing importfanboyzz who would NEVER even be able to afford the base one let alone the $94K version, or to mod ANY of them!!
