Have to say it would be a better commercial if the new challenger beat up on a Mustang GT500 !!
If the SRT is going to start at 38k then what do you all think the 5.7 RT will go for and down the line ? Discussion please.

1. It looks cool as hell ( and all the newer cars are getting heavier )
2. The SRT will have plenty of power
3. With limited production the sticker prices may indeed get inflated.

2. The SRT will have plenty of power, around 425 at least.
3. With limited production the sticker prices may indeed get inflated, which is a common occurrance with all "hot item" makes and models.
4. Unfortunatley, all the people I talk to are getting one of these instead of the later-arriving Camaro

That car is surely under powered for the money. The gt500 is only 4k more, but has a good deal more power. Not to mention a ton more on the table with bolt ons. I think they dropped the ball no the car with the 6.1l At least when they do go on sale it will take some pressure off the gt500s, whose ADMs are already going away.
Hopefully the Camaro has Shelby power if they try to get Shelby money for it.

I love it...the Challenger has always been a fat ***...so the extra weight does not bother me. I really like this...I think it is over priced...but I will wait till they are used and pick one up. If the camaro had stuck to its light weight heritage I would have gotten one...but it is not a camaro. The new camaro looks like a Camaro...but it is not a Camaro. This thing looks like and is a Challenger!!!

The SRT8 cars and Jeep are capable of dipping into the 12s off the showroom floor. Don't underestimate what this car will do considering it's shorter and will weigh less than those do.
When the R/T model bows it should be around the same price as the next Camaro and will feature a revised 5.7L HEMI with more power and a choice of auto and manual transmissions.
This is a good time to be alive.

Meh...for the price the top of the line new Camaro will be I'll just keep my 4th gen or get a used, low mileage Vette. At least then, in either case my car won't be 1 of 2,000 seen on the road on a daily basic, ala Mustang.

FYI...
The press release conveniently left out the $2100 Gas guzzler tax!!!
The actual MSRP is $40,095.

FWIW, Camaro will not be subject to any gas guzzle tax.
