Default Think SHE may have SMOKED the clutch today

My wife insisted on driving home from the family's Christmas dinner today. We had about 40 miles to go till home, and she was having the time of her life beating the **** out of MY V. She made a run to 127 on the deserted Interstate and then was having a ball on the 20 miles or so of curvy backroads. When we got to the bottom of a BIG mountain set of switchbacks and turned right at the STOP sign 1-2 shift..A little spirited but nothing crazy...2-3 shift at around 4,500 and she dumped out on the clutch...no girly girl slipping it... and the car wouldn't bite AT ALL....She immediately let out and went back to 2nd and it pulled fine. The car has 94,xxx on it and I know that a clutch is in the future anyway. Checked the fluid when we got home and it looked okay and not too burned...I did the flush procedure a couple months ago..Just wondering if this was caused from the BEATING the car took today or if y'all thought it sounded a little more like I might be in the clutch market a little sooner than I had expected?
Thanks in advance

*NOTE* I did smell a little of that dreaded burned smell, but nothing crazy....I've driven it since I got back and it doesn't feel like it had quite the pull it did....Gonna let it cool down and try again later.

I wouldnt be too concerned with it. Sound sliek she didnt ride it too long so you should be fine. Let it cool down and i doubt youll see much of a difference these stock clutches are pretty stout IMO.

I'd start a clutch fund in a piggybank ... just in case.

Yeah I drove it again after it had FULLY cooled down it had a lot more grab. I noticed you're still on your stock clutch in previous posts and that you are spraying. I was hoping to make it to 100k+ on mine. It's never a good time financially for me to have to budget in a clutch swap, and the local track is closed for the Winter, so all it's gonna see till Spring is DD duty and the occasional street run....If the clutch starts to be an issue, I guess I'll limp it around till I can make myself go for the LS7 setup

I think you'll be fine. Clutches aren't as fragile as they seem at first. I used to let my ex drive my car when we were still together and she rode the clutch a bit at times. Mine is still fine and I'm at 70K miles or so. On a sidenote at least your wife can drive a stick. Not too many women I know can drive sticks, so that's pretty cool.

if you made the mistake of getting married then she owns the car as well.

but your clutch should be fine. they can handle abuse like no other part of the car if built properly.

Yeah that's what I've gotten from what I've read. Itsslow sent me a link to a deal yesterday that was offering the LS7 setup for 425.
