My procharger book said you are good to approximately 1 hp per cfm on a stock holly carb. If you purchase a csu or a CS carb you can get way over 750 hp. I remember reading about a 502 with a 750 CS carb that made well over 1100 hp.

fwiw, you can go a few different ways. everybody has had different experiences with the big carb makers. carb shop, csu, c&s, etc.... i've used csu in the past and it was great. but it was also modded by brent davis with "the crutch". and i plan to do the same thing with the new combo i'm putting together (lq4 based, s480).
you can also try the "hanger 18" mods and do it yourself. if you're on a tight budget and know you're way around carbs, this isn't a bad option at all. i prefer to have someone who knows more than i do build the carb, and allow me to fine tune to the motors liking.
so just search around, look in the dyno forum, and the builds forum to see similar combos to yours and i'm sure you can pick the rigth one for you.
