I wonder if your belt is not slipping and getting it hot at high rpm. Have you tried it configured like this? It will grip the crank and water pump much better.

I've run his belt configuration to 7500 rpm with no problems. I know several guys who have routed their belts that way as well that don't have issues. we've all done it with OEM truck tensioners.

this makes my brain hurt...

if the tensioner is in line with the crank, and the alternator is in line with the crank, the tensioner and alternator should be in line. what am I missing here?

exactly

I used a 2' level for a straight edge....so I'm guessing I missed the pulley being twisted (misaligned on the horizontal not the vertical plains)

Sad news. Lost a local friend last night from a heart attack. Was at the track, had made a pass and was walking the pits when it happened. He was an outstanding type of guy and he will be missed by the racing coomunity. His family will have a massive void that will not be easy. He was a member here as well.

Sorry to hear Zane....thoughts and prayers to his family.

But I'm glad to report.....no belt throwing this "test" session.

Thoughts ? AFR log

I run the Corvette accessories with power steering pump and stock belt tensioner. I make regular trips to 7500 RPM and a few to 8000 RPM. Since I replaced the factory tensioner some time ago, I have never lost a belt. However, I have fried my alternator. That may have been from too much RPMs.

This looks like it is saying 13.5:1 average A/F. Is that correct? If so, I would richen it to 12.5:1.

Do you have an RPM graph?

Not yet, I need to wire up the rpm and maybe the MAP.

As for the AFR, what you think ? 2 steps up on the jets ? (also remember this is 10% Ethanol puke)

Between 2 to 4 should get you there. I would start with 2 sizes all the way around.

after you richen it up a little and see if your MPH goes up, try a slightly larger squirter to see if eliminating that lean spike helps your 60' time.

Will do.
Always did this by reading plugs....I love using the gauge, easier and see changes right now.

OK, Tach is now hooked up

Started in the garage with the door 1/2 open...tested tach (still works) and data logger...both reading/recording.
Still thinking about the MAP....just for grins.
Would love to do the speedometer....but $$...maybe later down the road ?

2 minute log....need to find jet kit in my "organized confusion"

how much are jet kits? I have one that I may be willing to sell now that I don't have a carb....kept it around because i'd like to have a carbed setup again someday.

Not sure on the kits, I usually buy what I think I need and have a bunch of jets.

I found my "kit" and need to see whats in the carb Vs what ones I have.

the final piece of the puzzle for my Camaro (hopefully)

it's hard to believe it's been a year and 4 months since I've last started it. anyone know where the best place to sell my old tubular uppers/lowers off of my 69 Camaro? they are speedway control arms that are made in USA by Golden Star Auto here in Lewisville, TX
