Yes, checked that yesterday, all looked good. 1 was little tight. Frustrating as it will idle well and Rev sitting. Put any type of load, sputters, pops, out of the carb. Might try crank shaft sensor today

Did you try the other coils? You would think if it was the crank sensor or reluctor it wouldn't run at all, or at least run like crap all the time. Man if its not the coils I'm sad to say it very we'll may be that you nipped a intake valve. Probably the one with the lower temp reading. What did the plugs look like? Well think positive. Its the coils!!!

Well so far so good. I installed a used crank sensor and it works. Go figure. What I'm surprised is that it didn't show on the MSD box as a fault. Going to drive some more around to check. Thankfully Shaun let me use his shop and a bunch of his stuff to swap over to check. MSD box, carb, coils, and a awesome working used crank sensor.

So for future reference remember the MSD box might not show a faulty crank sensor for what ever reason.

Man that's cool. Got to love the easy fixes. Pretty crazy that the MSD box didn't show a fault. And just the fact it would only do it under load. Glad you got it.

I checked again and didn't see any faults. it has shown cam sensor fault, funny from day one I had a small miss fire and was just tuning it all so didn't pay much attention but it started to get worse and worse. new build as about 2 months now.

now I'm wondering.? the used crank sensor was an actual GM part and my part was from Auto parts store and we noticed GM was a little longer from the mounting base. maybe only 3 to 5 ths. So not in far in enough and bad signal from reluctor wheel? Maybe just a fluke, don't know.

Project bisquick is under way. Found the ford intake plate in the trunk and figured it would be a shame to throw away.

Pleased to say the engine and trans are in their final resting place. It was a long process getting them where I wanted them to be with these ford K member issues. But it's done. Sits to the passenger side like 1/2 inch, but I can live with that.

No, I'm a OG paying member for a long time. Members that have been paying get third party hosting till December 2018. Then we are screwed. Till then, I'm gonna run it out.

Got some things done. Not a ton, but also had to the the time to get the engine bay cleaned up and painted. Looks good enough for the girls I date.

So I'll figure I'll ask here. Car has a bad miss, stutter, pops thru carb.
Car has been going 6.60's NA on testing, (new combo)and always thought I had a lil miss to it but when I shifted (powerglide) it went away or it just disappeared. It was more midrange. I thought maybe I was close to rev limiter once.
Now last week doing a burnout at the track it popped thru the car doing a burn out, cleared it up and when I went to leave it sputtered all the way down the track 1/8th mile.
Now it will fire up and idle good and even free rev good but under load it sputters or misses and pops thru carb not exhaust. Foot brake and it will sputter. stick it back in park and restart and revs good.
Now it's E85 new Prosystems carb. LLSR, LS3 heads, MSD 6014

Checked all grounds but will check again. Relay is also good.
thought fuel, sounds like it's out of gas. Like it hits a wall when acceleration then starts to pop loud. Gauge says 7lbs, I can run 2 pumps or 1, tried both.
Pulled valve cover to see if anything loose or broke. (Crower shaft mounted rockers.)
Swapped out MSD box and nothing changed. wired exactly like instructions say.
Had TR7's now put in TR6's 30 gap and nothing
Had timing from 30 to 38* no difference.
Swapped out to regular Pro systems carb and emptied tank and put reg gas and nothing.
Did check to see if fuel was E85 and its 84% on gauge.
been a whole week just tracing things wires, fuel etc.
Somebody mentioned coil packs?
I might swap out the crank sensor but thought it would do it all the time if it was bad. Or my MSD box would show it in faults but nothing.
Reluctant wheel bad? but wouldn't it do it all the time?

any ideas I'm willing to check.

I had this exact scenario. idled and free revved perfect, but under load it would pop and bang...

it was a broken valve spring. causing the issue. I made 3 or 4 passes with the spring like this. check your springs before starting it again.

Went off and installed pex line for the fuel system from Home Depot. Kind of a expedient. Same **** is used for gas cans, gas tanks, whatever. So some guys only assumed it was for water in homes only. Lol.
