Default LS1 + T56 & 1979 Monte Carlo Project

Hi everyone,

I'm pro-touring & lateral-g member and thought I also should post a build thread over here.

I bought it december 2002 and I'm still on it.

current projects, rework the whole car, rebuild frame/suspension. Body will be painted something like gunmetal (dark grey)..

first steps - I cleaned a lil bit the engine and added some chrome parts..

09/17/2007:

started to unscrew all stuff between body and frame..

yummy!!

..unfortunately 3 years passed now I had to stop work on it because of money issues... but I hope this year I can start again.
Like said before, want to rebuild everything. Want a clean & smooth car - good suspension, good brakes and a nice look..

..something like that I want it to look like..

Looked around for ideas what to do with the interior. especially with the dash/gauge-cluster.. and found this:

http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15561
http://www.hzemall.com/our_gallery/i...al/install.htm

It's a 1960 Impala dashboard.. and here's what I bought:

my BOSS 338 rims:

18x8 (front)

18x9.5 (rear)

at the moment I'm planning to get a LS1 along with a T56. already started collecting parts:

ordered GSI clutch pedal.

will start work on the car again very soon - asap cold winter over here is gone.. will pull out the old motor and reweld and box the frame...

okay so far,

feel free and post your thoughts and suggestions!

thx

found some pretty cool door handles:

by pressing the button the handle will come out. what do you think? need to measure the stock handle of the car. these handles are about 6.25" long (from aluminum handle to button)..

and here the look out to my daily car

I pulled the engine few hours ago and I must say it was easy going for my first time doing that. next step is pull the chassis out the barn, finish the body dolly and roll the body further in the barn so I got more room to play will look around for a sandblaster for my frame and so on...
