Thanx Tony. I had a really good time out there. In regards to the weird numbers on the one ticket, sometimes the clocks go a little batty. As for the reaction times, It has been a very long time. I had to knock the rust off. The final run of the night was a .003. That'll get er' done anywhere.

My buddy just sent me a link to a much better video he shot from the other side of the track:

Wow, great job tigger! I am so impressed with your car. Really gets me fired up to get started on mine. Just wish it wasn't so hot here (105F).

Nice job, and very nice looking car. I think Buick did a nice job of building a car that is lighter than it looks. Thanks for the motivation for me to get my converter installed and work on my 60' times.

It weighs exactly 3500 lbs with the spare tire in the trunk and a full tank of gas.

I would have figured your Camaro for 3300. What is the weight?

According to what I have read the car in full dress is supposed to be around 3,700lbs. I have not actually weighed it yet. I hope you are right and I am around 3,000lbs.

I went to Bradenton Motorsports Park for the quarter mile today. They did not start making passes until after 10 am. So I only got 2 in before the track went away. It was stupid hot out there. One of the bracket racers next to me in the pits measured the track temperature at 135 degrees! As you might guess it got really greasy out there. I found that the car slowed down at 28 degrees timing and started to rattle on the big end at 34 degrees timing. Everything in between ran roughly the same. So I split the difference and locked her in at 31 degrees total timing all in by 1600 RPM. I wanted to play with the jetting, but it just go too slippery and too hot.

Here are the two early passes before the track went away:

A little better gas and some more timing and you should be mid-11's track allowing. At what point on the quarter do they require a cage?

In NHRA, all the rules come in at 11.49 et.

That's great! I ran the same mph on hot greasy nasty track and just under a second slower with my van converter, so I've got high hopes for a converter swap.

That is the fuel filter. The line that the filter is on is the inbound fuel line coming from the tank. That is a return style fuel pressure regulator. The line coming out the bottom is the return line to the tank.

Alright, looks like a regular Holley regulator.
