The Vintage Air setup operates as a stand alone unit, but the poster above (SS69LS1) said he connected it to his ECM somehow so it could adjust the idle and turn on the fans whenever the AC is running. I think that's a great idea and I'd like to know how to do it.

According to Sam Mcllough that wired the harness, the PCM will cut the fans on according to the temprature of the engine regardless of whether the A/C is on or off. The A/C will only be used when its hot outside so getting the engine to temp shouldnt be a problem. The PCM will also adjust idle when its under a load whether it be A/C or whatever. Yeah it would be cool to replicate the factory setup but its really not neccesary. You could actuate a fan from the Vintage Air setup and use one for the PCM or add a fan to the front of the condensor and push air only when the A/C is on. Several different methods its just what works for you.

13 -Low Reference (4.8L/5.3L6.0L/6.2L with CJ2/C67) - A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Pin 1

You need to be careful here. What Snow is doing for dual fans is totally different than what the factory is doing with their dual fans. His fans will be controlled separately outside the PCM. What the factory does is use 3 relays to control the fans. They energize one relay that puts the fans in SERIES. That cuts the voltage in half and both fans run at half speed. The PCM energizes the other two relays for high speed. This puts the fans in PARALLEL...which gives each fan 12V and they both run at high speed. The logic the factory uses to control the fan speeds leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. I want both fans on high whenever the a/c is on. I wired up a manual switch for that purpose. I also want them to come on sooner anyway...that's what PCM programming is for. I hope this gives you an idea of what you have.

Actually as it is right now the PCM is controlling both fans. I have two relays and have not checked the voltage on either. I am glad you said that. If I have a voltage drop on either I will bypass the power wire to the relay and take it straight to 12v from the battery and let the PCM just switch them on and off but at full speed. I will of course run them independant of one another.

Thats always an option too! I may end up just putting a stand alone fan for the A/C and leave the engine fans alone. This will all depend on how well the cool. Their Spal fans but sort of small. I like BMF's radiator and after all the trouble I had mounting my setup I wish I had just bought the direct bolt in unit. Are your fans keeping the car cool? What temp does it stay around while running down the road? at stop lights?

What sizes were your radiator hose fittings? I looked at Speedway, but only see 1 1/2" on one and 1 3/4" on the other. Aren't the LS hoses both 1 1/4"?

Its a 1-1/2" upper and 1-3/4" lower on mine. The top was perfect to the water pump but I am using a SBC water neck so the bottom worked out great for me but may not if you are using the LS water neck/thermostat.

I am using a Swaptech water neck adapter, a 15 degree swivel SBC neck, Gates hoses 20603 and 22373. You will need to shorten the lower hose but the top hose fits perfect.

I will have to look as my lovely wife threw the part numbers out by mistake like every other piece of paper I leave on the table.

I have finally wired in the OBD2 connector and have all sorts of codes popping up. My idle keeps climbing as it gets warm, headers are glowing red, and the temps between headers are erratic between cylinders. I have a MAF code p0101 and a p0651 which is a voltage B circuit open. What the hell is a a voltage B circuit open??? Anyone care to help?

The top hose is the 22373. I just went to Oreillys website and there was a clear pic.
