Sounds like a good deal. It may be cheaper to sell a harness and buy new. I would be very interested in how it turns out. How are you determining harness length for the custom fit and where are you mounting the PCM.

I talked to Steve on the phone and he needed to know how I wanted the main harness run. I told him along the firewall, across the inner fender and in behind the battery. He said it will be taken care of. He asked in what direction I was running the MAF, alternator bracket I was using, etc. etc. Like I said he was more than thorough, now if he performs as good as he acts will be the determining factor. I will let each and everyone of you know about this start to finish. There will be pics and descriptions of everything. I have been sort of slack lately keeping up with the information as I was in a mad dash to get the engine fired up.

Just walked in the door from vacation so no updates today. I havent received a tracking number yet on my harness so it might be towards the end of the week before anything is updated. I may go ahead and update some over due things I have over looked while attempting to run this engine. I need to get the interior back together and try to button up a few items before the harness and such comes in. I did manage to clean up the garage before I left out so I have a clean slate to work with and not jumping over things like before. Its amazing how a clean garage will get me out there and get something done.

Tsnow,
I just got done welding my tank. What a pain in the azz that is.It sucks welding outside in the sun. So.... Hat off to you, as yours turned out ALOT better. I am thinking I will have to get the tank sealed to wart off any rust and any pinholes I missed. So thanks ALOT for the heads up on your tank seal job. Before I read it, I never knew they had anything like that available.

I hope you and the family had a great vacatiion!
Cheers,
Jim

Had an outstanding vacation! I didnt think about work, cars, bills, and all the other stuff that is on my mind. Toes in the sand and a cold beer in my hand. I didnt want to leave. Went charter boat fishing Friday and had a blast. The storms kept us out of the Gulf Stream but 65 foot of water with 8 foot swells on a 40 foot boat, we caught our fair share. Capt. Dan was awesome and the drinks, beer, and snacks were included. I did catch what the captain called a "mother-in-law" fish. I was like why do you call it that? He said look at it, its so damn ugly it has to be someones mother in law!!! I must say it was one ugly *** fish. I laughed my *** off but I cant say that about my mother in laws as she is still holding her own to near 70. She is why I married my wife, good looking! Now play time is over and its back to the daily grind for a while. I have to get my car ready as I am missing out on some good times around here. Did you ever get the leak fixed?

Thanks Jimbo! I had a great time on vacation! I will have to see the tank when you are done. I am sure it turned out perfectly fine. The only problem about welding outside is the sheilding gas has to be turned up so high and the slightest wind always screws up my welds. You can buy the tank sealer and do it yourself if a radiator shop isnt local. Its called "Red-Kote". Mine seems to be holding up fine without any leaks. Of course it hasnt moved very far since fired up. I did move it under its own power over one bay. I now have 40 feet on my new engine/tranny combo, yippeee!!!

Lol!! Your crazy man. You could have rolled the car to a different spot in the yard and had a clean slate to work with. I am now cramped for space until the wife goes back to work and then I will block her out once again.

I got a response Wednesday. They just finished test running the harness/PCM combo. It was shipped out on Thursday and since they are using snail mail (USPS) the tracking information sucks *** so it should be here sometime next week. He told me 7-10 business days to build the harness and it took 8. So far they have been honest and thorough. The true test will be after I wire in the hots and grounds and turn the key. Thanks for the interest and sorry I have been swamped at work. I have in 60 hours so far this week so no time for computer play.

Thanks for the update. I am just getting anxious as I am going tomorrow to pickup an LS2/4L70E package to put in my 69 Camaro shown below.
