Crossing my fingers!
You should be able to use your existing hole to fit the master through. The reason mine is offset was due to an inferior bracket. I still have the blockoff plate that was on the firewall since my Camaro was a factory automatic car. I may can modify it.

Actually, I think yours is where it should be. After you corrected the bend in the bracket, it looks offset exactly like mine. I cut out a section around where the master is located and patched in some metal with a hole just big enough to let the master slide through.

Like you, I also had to cut and reform the pedal hanger bracket to clear the brake master pushrod rod end.

I read somewhere here about using foam pipe insulation. That seems to be the best way to seal it. I used 3/4" insulation. My initial ideas weren't worth a damn. The seal pokes a little through the hole but seems to fit and seal snugly.

Man that looks great! I like the pipe insulation/sealer. Great work on the pedal bracket, looks like a factory piece! Thanks for sharing the pics.

Thanks Gary! I doubt by Monday, I still have to order my head gaskets and a few miscellaneous items. I may try to pull the old engine out this weekend. I am sure once I get started on it there will be no stopping till its up and running. I would have skipped out of work today but I had to leave early yesterday to pick up the engine and have the PCM flashed.

Tick Performance did a heck of a job putting the short block together. Special thanks to Jonathan for his advice and assembly!!! Those guys really went above and beyond!

Thanks to Alvin Anderson from PCM4less for spec'n my cam and taking care of the PCM! He makes tuning look so simple. I watched for a second while he was making some adjustments and all I saw was a screen full of numbers and graphs. Maybe one day I will figure out what all that is. I doubt it!!

LOL.....yeah man, I was just messin with ya. You've done a great job of taking your time and doing things right on this car......it would be a shame to get in a rush now and make a mistake. But I know what you mean......once the parts start flying, something just takes over and before you know it.....it's done! When I did my last cam swap in the Camaro, I had left it tore down for a couple of weeks. I basically ran into an issue where I was getting some BS PtoV clearance readings and had to walk away for a while. Then one day I walked out in to the garage in my drawers......just to take a look at a few things. Well, the next thing I know I'm firing up the car and listening to my new cam. It was like.......what the hell just happened?!?!

Well I got the itch Saturday night to do a little to the Camaro. It took about 3 hours and this is what happened.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

I dont know if it was the **** poor job I did to the passenger side valve cover baffle for clearance or is this normal, but there is quite a bit of oil that has made its way to the intake. I will most definately but a catch can! I did however buy an LS6 valley cover and will use a pcv in the line coming from it to slow the oil down a little. It may fix the problem. Time will tell. If not a catch can will be used in conjuction of the LS6 valley cover.

[IMG][/IMG]

Well I stripped the oil pan, heads, oil pump, pick up tube, knock sensors, windage tray, lifter trays, cam sensor and crank sensor off of the 6.0. I put my old truck oil pan on the 6.0 to keep out any unwanted guests. The rear cover wasnt touched. The front cover had to come off to access the oil pump.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Heads are going to get a thorough cleaning before heading to the 408.

[IMG][/IMG]

Taking my replacement front and rear covers to work tomorrow for a good cleaning and a glass beading. I hope to have the 408 ready for reinstall tomorrow or Tuesday.

Looking good Tony! I'll bet when the 6.0L went in, you could've never guessed you'd be pulling it back out this soon and be happy about it .........LOL.

Thanks Gary! I have to agree on the engine swap. I was dreading it until Saturday night. After I got my hands dirty I started to look forward to the outcome.
