LQ4/T56 into my 69 Camaro

PS=you were right on the rings by the way! I deleted the portion off of your thread. No one commented on it so I figure it best to just remove it. Never in a million years would I have thought the rings would move much from their original position. Thats what I get for thinking!!!

I will try to video the car but would rather wait till I can add some excitement to the video. I am babying it around right now. I did get on it a little today but have only put 22 miles on the new engine. My plans are to pull the fuel tank out tomorrow and free up my float for the sender as it is hung under some wires and giving off a false level reading. I promise to post up a video as soon as she is ready to blast down the road.

Don't baby it too much Tony...Some occasional 3/4 throttle runs to about 4500-5000 rpm are very good for ring seat. The biggest concern is not to keep it at the same rpm for long periods of time, and not to overheat it! That would be a killer.

hi tsnow678,
nice job on your LQ4/T56. wish i would kept my 68. anyways i have friend that just recently purchase a 2003 LQ4 to put in his 67'SS Camaro and was wondering if there was a specific T56 he has to go with? it is a auto trans in there now if that makes a difference. from what he has been telling me he will be running close the same set up as you did.
thanks for the info and great right up on your build!!!

Sounds like they need to work on their baffling, eh Tony? If that's the case, I would stay away from them until they get it fixed. Worst thing you can do to an electric pump is starve it for fuel.
