Well after a lot of hard work and determination the 408 is alive!!! Alive and well I should add. I am currently breaking in the new engine and the tune is far from perfect. As soon as I log the miles on the engine its heading straight down to Pcmforless and have Alvin Anderson work his magic. I was seating the rings in today with some short burst from 1500 rpm's through to around 3500 and let her decelerate and did this several times. I had to be careful as I was in second gear doing this and she was spinning the tires in that short of a burst. This thing is going to be so different from the 6.0 I had in there. I cant wait till the odometer hits around 750 miles and I can let her fly. I am still amazed at the difference in the mannerisms between the two engines! I will try to post a vid of the new engine but I would prefer to wait till everything is right first. There is a car show/ test and tune coming up in the middle of April but I am afraid I wont have everything done by then. We'll see what happens. I can say for sure now that the money I spent on this stroker was money well spent!

Edit: Make sure you get the correct set of springs for the perches welded on your rear end. Clark suggested to me to leave the upper rubber insulator in but remove the lower one. He said he has seen where the lower has caused issues on some cars where a lot of power is applied.

Even though I like to be a part of the LS community, I hope after this week I never have to post my thread ever again!! I love to help people out and will continue to do so but everytime I post to my thread it cost the daylights out of me. I am about ready to kick back, put her in first roll out and never look back. Wishful thinking I know!!! I built this engine with high enough compression so that a supercharger/turbo would not be a future option. Maybe this will curb my spending a little. Of course there is always a little laughing gas in the future. If I ever get this car to hook then we will talk NOS!!!

What are the specs on the 408? *EDIT* Found 'em.
The price tag keeps growing every time "they" call. So far I have a 408ci Manley 2618 forged nitrous friendly pistons (11.25:1), Callies H-beam rods ARP 2000 hardware, Manley 4340 steel crank, donor LQ block prepped thoroughly, ATI Super Dampener, ARP main studs, Katech timing chain, new gears, custom grind Comp cam 23X/24X @ .050" .6XX/.6XX, new set of LS7 lifters, and ARP head bolts. I am going to use my L92's, LS3 intake, engine covers, oil pan, water pump, etc.
