Yeah man I like BBQ! I usually stop by Hooters and grab a bite. The food is ok but man the scenery is awesome. Remind me to tell you about the shorts from there, good story! I can eat anywhere down there except a strip club. Are you going to the AutoFair in April?

Love that car! Thanks Craig I will do my best to swing by and check it out in person. Looks like I will be going down on Friday late rather than Thursday due to the rain. Saturday and Sunday are looking real promising.

A little update: I wired my reverse lockout to the line lock switch and it works flawlessly! Now maybe I can save my right shoulder from any further damage from shifting to reverse. This is something I should have done a long time ago! I also replaced my 12v to my OBD II to a constant hot. Weird how you think this was how you originally wired it and find out 2 years later you were mistaken. I couldn't figure out why my ScanGauge II wouldn't save my tripometer settings. After some back and forth with customer support "she" figured out my issue was in the wiring.

Whats the deal with the reverse lock out wired to the line lock switch Tony? I don't follow what you did/what the benefit was?

Sounds like you got schooled on the ScanGauge wiring....lol. I had a similar recent experience when I called a parts housing looking for some parts for the wifes vehicle. That girl knew EXACTLY what the hell she was talking about......I was impressed!

Most people wire the reverse lockout to their brake switch. Not real fond of the reverse lockout activating every time I hit the brakes so I used the switch for my line lock. Trying to over power the solenoid is killing my shoulder. Now I can hit the switch for my line lock and bam its in reverse.

Cool. Don't ya love it when little annyoing things like this get fixed?

Now this has me thinking. My TA has been giving me a lot of trouble going into reverse and it never occured to me that I too could be fighting against the lock out solenoid. I'm gonna have to figure out how it is factory wired in a 4th gen. Because if it's wired to the brake peddle that could very well be my problem when I'm backing out of my garage and the engine is still cold, I usually have one foot on the clutch and the other on the gas. I guess I have some homework to do and I may end up copying your wiring on this.....thanks!

The factory uses the VSS to activate the reverse lockout. Once the VSS relays speeds over 3-5 mph the reverse lockout activates and prevents shifts into reverse. I read somewhere where someone used a series of relays to incorporate the clutch switch along with the brake switch to activate the reverse lockout. I chose to use the line lock switch as it was the path of least resistance for me. The only time I will use the line lock is at a stand still launch so reverse would be a long ways away and should prevent an accidental shift.

Here are a couple of videos of some passes I made at the Zmax on my street tires. The first video you will not see my car till about half way through it. I eat the Nova alive until my fuel pump decided to push its way off of the supply line. I still beat him by a nose coasting from the 1/8th on. In the secnd video I was up against a ZR1 and got him in the end. The timers were screwed up so the mph and the ET on my first two passes were not correct. They (Zmax) eventually shut off the lights and timers and sent us off by hand. As you can see on my second pass with the s/c Challenger I was not aware the lights were not activated and waited till I saw the challenger leaving before I ever let off of the brakes. Still run him down though, ha! I made 4 or 5 passes before the fuel issue. It was fun and if it were not for Gary Cropp (GC99TA) I am not too sure how I was getting my car home. Gary is A #1 in my book and a true friend!!! Gary you are the man!!!

The number displayed was a 13.34 but from what I was told by a crew member the ET's were not correct. They ended up shutting off the lights and display all together and waved us off. No time slips were handed out either. So who knows what she will run. Maybe one day my tight *** will buy some tires for the track and find out.

Actually I was hoping for it to be faster but the track was terrible and my Nitto street tires were not hooking up for anything. I had to literally roll out at idle and progressively get into the gas. Once she gained some steam in first the tires were spinning again so it was short shift to second and let her go. The 3.42 gear with the 26" tall tires revved out across the finish line in third. I am curious to see what happens with some tires that will actually hook up on a decent track. It was badass to be racing down the famous Z Max where the big boys run!!! You get to see what they see but at a snails pace in comparison!
