IDK how creative it is.... pretty much how all the late model Silverado Kits are put together.

But thanks.

Looking good Greg! You should change the title to Project Rip-It C-10sec!

Who did you source the turbo snuggie and heat tape from? I guess since your blazing the trail, I'll ask you for help with boosting my junk.

Ebay.

Thermal Zero, check them out. Definitely a nicer product for cheaper price.

Gotta love room to move.

I finished torqueing down my rocker arms.

And pretty much painting is all I got done. Got my manifolds back from blaster, and they looked great. It revealed a few questionable spots on my log, so I go welder out and corrected those. And got to painting. Did VHT high temp gloss black... So it doesn't rust underneath, and also so the visible flanges will look presentable. Hope to start wrapping Thursday night.

Be sending my cold side piping to get blasted tomorrow. I made a hard left turn on color ideas yesterday.. Stay tuned.

Had a list of 4-5 things I wanted to accomplish last night after work. I really didn't expect wrapping my manifolds to be such a pita and time consuming. Its been a few years since I've done header wrap.... I should have known. Anyway, I got them both done, definitely not my best work. But oh well.

Got my cold side piping back from sand blaster, they didn't clean up completely. But they were powdercoated. So by end of weekend (50*+weather) I hope to have all my little paint projects wrapped up. and maybe reveal it

Finally got an oil feed for turbo figured out. I tried several adapters and no luck. I almost thing previous owner had helicoiled the feed hole to an odd size. So I just bought a billet block. I drilled the restrictor hole out to 1/4" before I installed it.

Put new plugs in, got driver manifold installed after I let dry in front of turbo heater for a while.

That's about it for now... Weekend hopefully I can make headway on all the small things I need to get done.

Had 2 fairly solid days in the garage this weekend. Made some headway, had some setbacks too. My major issue is my radiator dilemma, I have 3 radiators and 3 fan assemblies at home right now, none work. So im gonna have to order another ebay dual pass that will fit.

My crossover isn't fitting, guess i'll order a flex pipe for it this week and cut/reweld it in then repaint and wrap it once I know it fits.

I am leaving my injectors/map in for the first fire up and run. Then I will swap to the 3 bar map and 80lb injectors and hopefully get a tune to be able to putt it around. My realistic goal is probably Mid April to be on the road.

I did get both manifolds installed for last time, modified my #7 plug wire with a 90* boot from an extra MSD wire kit I had to clear the pipe, it worked great. I may go back and do that to the other 3 wires so they aren't laying against the manifold. Almost forgot about my dipstick tube. I cut the factory bracket of and re-bent it to fit as needed, I still need to weld a new support bracket on it, plan on bolting it to a free bung on valve cover.

Cleaned and painted my valve covers silver, reassembled and put coils racks all back together.

I finally got my turbo feed and drain lines finished, feed I wanted to go under the intake, but without pulling intake I had no way to get my hand in there to attach fitting and line and have it face towards the front, so it loops around the rear runner before going under intake... I think I can live with that. Also cut down my drain line a few inches and changed the straight to 45* hose end which gave it a better angle imo.

Made a quick turbo support bracket that bolts to block.

Finished all wiring and relocating my coolant sensor to the w/p.

Painted my cold side piping, it had to much texture from blasting and looks like poo imo, so im gonna have it stripped back off and hand sand pipe smooth and give it another shot. I'm happy with the color choice even though I've caught some flack... but that's ok. Did a final mockup of everything for last time, got turbo clocked and tightened where it needed to be.

Looking good. If you like the color you chose, then that is all that matters. I am considering doing this to my truck someday. Got to get my shop built first...

Thanks.

I really hope that this setup stays together. My quest to go fast has enveloped this build to focus on all drivetrain... I haven't had any money for anything else.

I'd like to move on to suspension/paint/interior etc at some point. I do like the way truck looks now.. but I don't want it to deteriorate from being outside.

A little progress is better than none I guess. I feel like more should have gotten done. But luckily I found a flex connector at a local shop. So I was able to cut that apart and get it installed/test fit/welded/painted/wrapped. And installed hopefully for final time.

Almost forgot about a dipstick tube... So I started messing with that. I was using a stock Silverado long tube before, I got it bent in shape to work, but its a 2 pc stick. So it was a huge fight to get it in/out. So I had a shorter one that had a 1 pc stick, I got it to work... but its a stretch to reach to #4 cyl where it comes out. I still need to weld a mount bracket to it to make it permanent, or look into a lokar?

I received my "purple" turbo guard today. Really surprised how well it matches, I didn't try to coordinate colors it just happened.

Got my cold side pipe stripped and ready to try again. Looks like im going to have to hand sand pipe to get the texture that sandblasting put in it. Then re-shoot paint and hope it looks good.

[QUOTE=static low 92;18704226] But luckily I found a flex connector at a local shop. So I was able to cut that apart and get it installed/test fit/welded/painted/wrapped. And installed hopefully for final time.

Is that flex coupler/connector meant for a turbo application and not just a regular exhaust coupler? If it's not turbo specific, you may blow it apart sending strands of crap to the turbo. One member experienced a blowout with his turbo 5.3 Chevelle build in the Forced Induction section but caught it before anything bad happened. He went with a Vibrant piece IIRC. Just a heads up.

Looking good BTW. I really like the square C-trucks. This should be fun as hell.

Couple things last night, finished welding the bracket on my dipstick tube and installed it.

Installed the boost gauge and gauge line/fitting into the intake.

Went ahead and bolted the turbo up for final install, hooked up all oil lines, wastegate etc. I fired it up just to see how loud it was with the downpipe... Gonna need more of an exhaust for sure. Need to order some mandrels to finish my exhaust plan.

I have a start up vid I will post once it loads to my PB.

2 biggest projects to finish: I need to install radiator and get new hoses for the dual pass (haven't received radiator yet) Also need to swap my trans pan and put new filter (waiting on trans pan too)

Getting very close.

Not a lot to report. Weekend with a bachelor party=little productivity.

Finished re-painting my cold side pipe, I hand sanded it as much as I could tolerate and used an entire can of filler primer, wet sanded with 400. Still isn't as slick as I think it should be. But vast improvement over what it was. Guess i'll live with it.

Also got my firewall painted. Still on the hunt for a non-ac blower box.

I finally got my correct dual pass radiator yesterday. 4th times a charm. Test fit it, and I'm gonna need a 90* boot off passenger side intercooler to be longer to give me some wiggle room. Right now it will scratch paint off cold side piping trying to drop it in. Ebay order placed already. Need to come up with a way to mount my fans to it without zipties. Bought some GM style 4 pin weather pack connectors to wire for fans to make removal easier later.

Also got my aluminum trans pan, need to install it and new filter.

To mount the fans, take a look at my "White Trash" build. I made some "clamps" to attach mine to the top and bottom flange of the radiator. I see your new radiator has the same flanges, so you should be able to do something similar. The screws are #8 Stainless Steel Machine Screws and the Nuts are S.S. Nylocks.

I saw that.

I think im just gonna use some 5/16" brake line tube as a stand off and just use machine screws and nuts.

Been drug away on other projects Monday/Tues. So haven't really got near as much done as I'd have liked to so far this week.

Got my trans pan off and found tons of shiney in the pan/filter. Doubt this trans is long for this world. But I'll have to make it last a bit so I can do a 400 swap... I put a new filter in it, and got new pan on.

My radiator install has been more work than expected, typical.

I mounted fans on top flange with cut up brake line for stand offs and used machine screws/nylocs. I ended up using zip tie at bottom to keep fans from swinging, even though my bottom mounts will press against fan plate.

Stacked some old conveyer belt rubber I had to get height where I wanted and made my bottom mounts with I think they were sandwich plates for energy trans mounts, bent them at an 90* and used carriage bolts though some factory holes in core support. On top I glued some rubber on core where radiator will press against it. Made top mount by cutting a slit in some aluminum tube and sliding it on the lip. from there i'll make some aluminum brackets with factory speed clips to bolt it to the core. I was able to cut my old upper hose to make it work. Lower is gonna be a PITA, I starred at my wall of hoses at work for an hour yesterday and didn't find anything I thought would work, May use the old coolflex hose that used to be on the S-10, i'll realistically never re-install it. So might as well make my life easier now.
