radiator for ls1 in 69 camaro ?crossflow or not ?

Default radiator for ls1 in 69 camaro ?crossflow or not ?

i currently have the ls1 in and running and used the stock 69 radiator . now i want a nicer radiator and i am looking at be cool or rondavis . can anyone help me out on which to buy ? since i am getting a new radiator should i get one with the correct inlet and outlets or just get one for a 69 camaro with a big/small block . i think the ls1 stlye is a crossflow ? anyone with any help would be great in need to order in the next day or so . thanks

I gave Griffin Radiators (sponsor here) a call and they custom made me a radiator that bolts into my '69 and has the correct LS1 inlet/outlet tubes on it. Took them about 2 weeks to get it to me, not bad.

I also had them add the optional electric fan setup, and it came attached. Very nice looking setup!

since both ends on the LS1 cooling system point towards teh pass side of the car i was jsut plannign to use a scirocco style radiator for my conversion. summit and jegs both carry them. if you find you need an odd size look around your area for your local circle track shop, they can usually get griffan or other quality pieces in any size you need.

when i get something whatever it is i want to bolt it in and go , no fabbing brackets at all . i need to have something in a week or weekand a half . going to a show and want it done , no matter what is cost type of thing .

I have a cross flow.. both the inlet and outlet are on the passengers side. this makes hose routing easy given the layout of the LS1 engine.

Cost me $600 custom made with mounts for my SPAL fans.. im very happy with it

alumrad is the sh*t , i ordered one on tuesday , told him it was important to have one ASAP , and he built it on wednesday and shipped it out . today it arrived and looks so good .

thanks to steve for refering him and thanks to brian at alum rad for his quick excellent service .

i pulled the fans apart to be painted base clear silver and the rad will be polished this weekend . thanks again. i will post a pic when it is finished
