Thanks you sir!

With graduation a mere seven weeks away I'm trying my best not to spend money on this thing so I can afford a full size toolbox/tools and relocation. I've got a few customers projects to do in the mean time. Look out for a GC related part in the upcoming month. I'll be advertising it on FB and the GC8 owners club.

I did however shave the antenna hole and bolts. There's still a low spot but I ran out of filler.

Started by spraying it with black paint to make a template.

Then tig'd it in. The sheet metal on our cars is absolute garbage.

Stay tuned for some RWD GC goodies!

Over spring break I had an interview which ended up landing me a job at a high end restoration shop. They predominantly do European cars like Lamborghini/Ferrari/Aston/Alfa etc. I'll finally be able to get out of Ohio!

Haven't touched my car, between spring break and other projects. However I do have something for RWD Subaru owners. Factory impreza knuckles modified to get more steering angle and better bumpsteer qualities.

The factory steering knuckles equate a mere 35 degrees when paired to a stock 98-01 RS steering rack. My "Unobtainium" knuckles come in at a whopping 58 degrees, a 64 percent improvement over stock. Paired with a FWD rack, your buddies S13 will no longer be the only car doing reverse entries at your local track.

Factory knuckle with bumpsteer correction:

"Unobtainium" knuckle:

And a side by side comparison:

And back to back between my two offerings:

Im not a vendor, so any inquires about pricing or availability can made through Facebook.

Congrats on the new job. As for the product offering, I'd highly recommend cleaning and painting your product, and making it look more presentable. It'll help your marketing to have a better looking product.

Thanks man. I haven't begun advertising yet which is why you're seeing them raw. I'm just waiting on the customer to decide on which powder coat color he would like.

Finished up the set of knuckles/tie rods.

I also did a set of intercooler pipes for an EG hatch

Still haven't touched my car and likely won't before it's moved back to my parents in a few weeks. I did finalize my decision for a longblock which came out cheaper than I expected. Once I seal my floors I'm probably going to do my turbo kit next. I haven't chosen a turbo yet but Borgwarner just released the big brother to the S496 so I've got my eye on those.

Thanks homie!

So a long overdue update, and probably not an entertaining one. I graduated college May 4th and prepped my car for the 900 mile trip back to NH.

The doors all latch and line up without body gap, which is honestly surprising without having had the car on a jig. No complaints here. The ride home was rather wet, but other than that there wasn't an issue.

All moved in at my parents garage. I work 2 hours away so I'll only be able to touch it on the weekends.

My daily failed inspection the first time around so off came the bed to make tubular shock mounts and custom shackles. No pics of those because the only thing I had was a flux welder. 🙄.

And less than 12 hours later.

Dropped my box off at work this week too. Boy Esprits are gorgeous. One of about 20 cars in the lot I've never seen before.

And that about wraps it up for now. I'll be starting my knuckle production this month and I have a long list to start checking off on my car. Don't worry updates are definitely due in the near future!

So I actually worked on this pile today. Pulled the engine down to a shortblock to see how fresh my cylinders were. Still had the factory cross hatching once I ran some oil through them.

The plan is now that I know my long block is good is as follows:

•Factory shortblock and heads
•New main/rod bearings
•New rings gapped for boost things
•ARP head studs
•Cam/lifters/springs/pushrods
•Factory car intake
•BW s480 housing with the 96/101 wheels
• ID2000s/rails/big external pump
•Custom 304L low mount manifolds
•Custom intercooler tanks with a 5" core
•Electric water pump

That setup will sit comfortably at 6/700 whp without stressing anything while I iron out any issues and then build the 410ci long block on the side. Once I have the 410 in the car, I'll be sending it into the realm of 4 digits. The manifolds/turbo kit, fuel system, and harness will swap right over to the big engine when it comes time to swap again. This will minimize down time and allow me to drive the car much sooner.

Ladies and homies we have an actual update.

I had a custom drive shaft made because I priced out what it would cost me to make one from scratch and it was the same price as a pre-fab one.

Action machine out of Indiana hooked me up.

• 3.5" aluminum shaft
• 1350 Spicer joints, double clips
• Billet yokes
• Billet Sonnax slip yoke
• Billet 8.8 flange

The owner of the shop says I should be good for 11-1200 ftlbs of torque.

After a little floor clearancing it fits perfect.

Surprisingly, my u joint angles are spot on 2° and will cancel each other out perfectly in hopes of a vibration free 200 mph pass

As for my big land rover hub plans, that's a bust. The hubs came in late last week and they were way bigger than what the measurements lead me to believe. After machine work the knuckle wouldn't have had enough meat left to bolt the hub in. I promptly sent them back at the next UPS truck and scooped a set of STI axles that night.

Mounting the two axle halves together was a chore but after a few hours and a dozen different measurements they came out true and fit perfectly.

(The bottom pic is from a dry sump line I repaired for a Ferrari 355)

My knuckles are naked because I pulled the STI backing plates to swap them with a pair RS or WRX backing plates. If anyone wants to trade a set of 06 STI backing plates for a good set of RS/WRX backing plates hmu.

I would have thought you'd want to bevel the ends where you join them so that you end up with a solid weld all the way through rather than just a ring of weld around the outside?
