1968 Chevy pickup, short wide bed,3 inch cab chop, cowl hood, with a Pete and Jake's coil-over 3.42 rear suspension. The motor is out a 2000 Trans-am with 29,000 miles. The tranny is going to be A-4 with a B&M shift. The motor is getting a new cam and lefters setup along with the re-program on the computer.

When I put an ls1 into my 78 camaro, theres no doubt I would put a stick into it. Enough automatic.

Anyway, has there been any write ups for a 2nd gen vehicle for an ls1? Also a price would be nice...

I have a 6 spd LS1 already....this car would be for cruising and the occasional run down the 1/4......I don't want a stick in it.

Default Why other Camaros & Firebirds?

Why do you guys just want to transplant LS motors into other generation Camaros & Firebirds? They're great cars granted, but why not put an LS motor in something really sick!!

Did you check out the pictures of the LS1 1966 Mini-Cooper Sedan Delivery, now there's a guy that's really committed or should be!

Cuz everyone has different tastes and desires when it comes to their cars and speaking for myself, I LOVE the older style F-Bods and so having that awesome, modern powerplant in there is a dream come true for me.........to each their own I say.

And I don't think it is people JUST wanting to put em in older F-Bods (although there is a large group that do), there are tons of diff conversions I see on this forum on a fairly regular basis........I know if I had an older non-4th gen and I found out I could get a new LSx motor in it and not have to drop $10-20k to buy another car + spend more money on mods after that, I would like that idea. Especially if I didn't have to sell the current car (older F-Bod)........but that is just me.

Default Ya caught me

OK Rott, ya caught me, I'll admit that the next project in our garage is more than likely to be a slammed 1969 Camaro, RS optioned, cowl hood LS2 crate with a T-56 with an IRS rear-end, disc all around and alot of suspension work for track days road course handling.

I've been a lifelong GM guy, this Miata is only my second Japanese car and the other, a 1973 240Z wound up with a 350 Chevy in it too.

Have fun, don't take life too seriously, you're going to live longer than you ever imagined was possible

Default Wow, Jellison!

That ZO6 TVR is absolutely beautiful!

Wouldn't want to go hammering around the roadracing courses over here on track days in such a magnificent machine.

Don't misunderstand me, I was just trying to reasonably answer your question.........I don't take much too serious, especially a message board.
