Default Conversion 96 4x4 4Dr Blazer to 2wd 5.3, A4

I just got my 2005 Suburban 5.3 with drive by wire, all accessories, computer and harness. The 4.3 is out of the Blazer. Still have to pull the trans and transfer case and front differential and axles. Plan on pulling the front fenders and grill works off to help with the install. Don't know why I didn't take them off first. Looking at using an electric master cylinder to give me more room. Also, saw an AC bracket that moves the compressor to the top but their web site doesn't have any info yet. I believe carcreations.com?

Cool

99 ls1/t56 into a 93 RX7

After reading the first 18 pages of conversions I feel like another number. Almost every page had an ls1 into a rx7 swap. Well add me to the list.

At least I dont know of any in Arkansas.

Default Wish we had LS1s then

Since you guys all seem to like the idea of a strong Chevy V8 improving a Cobra I thought I'd post this picture of an old project (1988) I helped a friend with. This is an H-Tech Cobra, not a kit a hand laid glass body from AC bucks and a blueprint Cobra chassis upgraded. The motor's a Chevy custom built stroker, blown underdriven 7%.

Wished we had LS Gen III engines back then. Now we just put them into our "sleeper" Miatas for fun!

Default It takes time for nice work

Nice clean work man, sweet!!

I hate to admit it but in 1988 I did a Ford 289 and a T-10 conversion on my 1973 240Z it was white & black euro looked not as nice as yours and certainly not as fast.

As somebody said elsewhere on the forum, "The Surgeon General didn't say anything about smokin' Fords"!

Hey guys, my first post, the project that I'm starting is putting an...
LS1 from a 00' Corvette into my...
89' 4x4 Toyota Pickup,
I'll post some pics of the motor and the truck, but I haven't bought the motor yet. I went and looked at it today and will probly get the money out of the bank for it on Tuesday (still have pics though).

I just wondered if anyone could share some advice on my purcase, the motor has only 1,800 Miles on it and like I said came out of an 00' Vette. The thing is, it dosen't have any accessories on it, I'll need a computer, some sensors, a throttle body, fuel rails, injectors, coils, and a complete wiring harness. Also probly need an alternator, starter, AC Compressor, power steering pump, and exhaust manifolds.

Would I be spending too much money if I bought the long block for $900 to $1,200? Considering it has only 1,800 Miles on it??? I think thats a pretty good deal....... ??

Oh yeah..... does anyone think that a 3 core radiator from a V6 Toyota pickup would keep an LS1 cool??? It measures about 17" X 26".... thats the thing that is worrying me most..... but at least it's a 3 core, I already bought a 16" electric fan for a Lincoln to put on there. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts to share......

Update on my Monte Carlo SS LS1 project. I am still gathering parts for the swap. Got new knock sensors, and a new intank hi flow fuel pump. Thinking about swapping my 3.73 gears that are in the car now for some 3.42 because of fuel costs. I love this car so much that I would rather drive it than my BMW except for the fact the BMW gets much better gas mileage. Here is a picture of her since I got her back from the body shop. She is just about ready for the swap, now I just need some cooler weather. It is averaging in the high 90's with 100% humidity.

Hey all, I'm a n00b here. I'm starting a LS1/T56 conversion in my 1968 Chevy C-10 Stepside SWB. The engine and tranny came out of an '01 TransAm WS6.

Link to swap thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/370781-my-ls1-t56-swap-into-68-chevy-c-10-stepside.html

I will be updating the thread as I take major steps. I worked to gut the drivetrain this weekend, trying to get the interior bay and front suspension cleaned up and repainted before I head to Mexico on vacation this thursday.

Just finnished 1985 Chevrolet El Camino SS with 2001 5.3L and 1998 4L60E. No wait, scratch that it will probably never be finnished , but I am done with the major part of the swap and it`s running. Just some little stuff to put on like A/C, cruise, swap mechanical fan for electric fans, swap stock single exhaust for true duals with a x-pipe, hide the aftermarket speedo in the dash and make it look stock. I fit the engine and trans in with a stock f-body oil pan and the truck intake manifold, I had to notch the heater box to make it fit, remove the last coil mounting boss on the valvecover, and move the EVAP purge solenoid to make it fit. I used 2001 F-body exhaust manifolds and they fit just fine except the drivers side o2 sensor had to be relocated.

Hi everyone,
1993 Nissan 240sx in the works for an LS1. Never done in 1989-94 year, but has been done in 95+ 240's by some people on here. Going to port the heads myself, slap a cam in, tune, and all the basic bolt ons before in goes in. Shootin for 10's in a 2600lb car. if not its going on spray... Currently I have a 1990 240sx with a RB25DET skyline motor and its not cutting it even though I run some ls1 cars. Pics soon.
