LS1 into my 1971 Celica
Been thinking about this for a while now. i have a few questions, my engine bay is only 30 inches? You guys think it will fit? Als is there someone out there who makes a front sump oil pan for this engine? my steering rack and crossmember wil be in the way of the rear sump pan. I have swapped an f20c and sr20det into early celicas befpre but ths will be a whole new challenge for me. Here are some pictures of my latest celica soon to be ls1 powered. All work was done out of my garage except for paint and all work on LS1 swap will be done out of my garage also.

That should be a very cool celica.
I have no clue if there is a front sump pan available, but it looks like you are kinda handy with fabrication, so you could just cut and weld a camaro pan and weld up a new pick-up tube.
She's gonna be tight in there.
Good luck.

Stroker LQ4 going into a 1979 Monte Carlo. The car has been undergoing a full restification since fall 2002. It will be drivable by next spring under the current 327 gen I small block. The 408 will go in over the winter of 06/07.

1973 Datsun 240Z... This will be a long project. Going down to component parts and replacing worn with new...
Going in it is a LR4 4.8 liter truck motor with all LS1 cam, intake, oil pan, front pulleys, attached to a much massaged 4L60E.
Using a Infiniti R200 short nose diff, or a R200 out of a 280Z 5-spd with a Reider CLSD.
Lots of parts to be purchased from MSA:
5 lug hubs
Rear control arms
Coil over style 2.5" springs for the front to allow for a 8" rim.
Cobra 13" brake kit
CV half shaft adapters
Rear disc brakes
Other items of interest:
Sanderson headers
2.25" SS dual exhaust into one 3"
KMC Hot Wheels Sixty-eights
Custom aluminum radiator
4500 CFM electric fans
Custom shock tower braces and frame stiffening
Still learning daily...

Well I have a 2002 dodge dakota R/T that I am thinking of swaping in an lsX.
Am I going to be in over my head with this?
Still undesided at the moment.
All depends on the sale of my turbo buick.

Nothing unique here,
1969 Camaro Z/28
LS1/T56 from a 2002 Camaro SS
The car is a ProTouring modified that used to have a potent Bigblock. Reason for doing the swap is mainly for less weight and better fueleconomy.
