Default 1955 Chevy getting new life.

Ok folks, I need some help from all of you great wizzards. I am doing the LS (havent decided which one) into my 55. I need some physical dimensions.
All I have now are block (empty and dead), heads and intake to do the mock-up. Can someone please measure from the face of the block (not the cover)to
the outside edge of the balancer (sans pully/s) and also what diameter is the balancer? I am trying to decide what engine setback to use.

Awesome ride!!!

In the pic it seems (to me anyway) that the SC sticks up above the stock hood. If so, what hood (or alteration) did you go with?

I have no idea what it does on the track yet, I want to get it dyno tuned first because I just switched to a smaller supercharger pulley, then its track time

As far as clearance, I run a 4" cowl hood now.

That is BAD ***!!!!! I dig the fog light panel you worked in there too. What did that come from? And do you have trouble seeing over that huge cowl?

Basically, I love your car.

Default '88 YJ Wrangler Conversion

I'm in the early stages of swapping a 2004 (LQ4) Vortec 6.0 from a Yukon into my 88 Jeep YJ Wrangler. I have the old 6 cyl and tranny out, and the SYE kit and tranny adapter installed in the Xfer case. Am now cutting the old motor mounts off, and trying to figure out which of the old wiring I can abandon!

Default Land Rover

Starting swap of SBC LC9 5300 Vortec (all aluminum, Flex Fuel and AFM) into my 97 Land Rover Discovery. I would appreciate it if anyone has mechanical drawings, a pdf file or knows a location where I can get dimensions of the back of the block where the locating pins and bolt holes are for the transmission to mount. My idea is to fab an adapter plate to bolt the Rover ZF auto tranny to the back of the LC9.

Thanks,
Richard (Tellicorick)

doing a 00 LS1/4L60e into a 66 2 door sedan Nova. Got the block/oil pan and trans sitting in the subframe this weekend, made up the engine adapter plates to old style engine mounts and fabbed up the trans crossmember. Just need to drill holes for the crossmember and the eng/trans will be mounted.

Default Soon to be.

I have a 1993 LX Coupe and a 00' WS6. The Trans-am is pretty much stock with a converter , exhaust and of course nitrous. My mustang has a 331 stock block stroker motor with a Tremec 5 speed transmission. With a pretty much stock WS6 at full weight I have gone deep into the 11' with the 10's in very very close reach. I drive the trans am to work and every where else i go and it still amazes me how it can run so well at the track and still be just as reliable as it was from the factory. I am getting ready to pull the motor and transmission out of the mustang and purchase another Ls1 motor and transmission to begin the transplant. I was thinking about going with the carbeurated set up with some minor head work and possibly a GM Hot cam. I will probably use a stock 4l60e with a converter and of course a good bit of the gas. I know they make alot of parts now for this proceedure but it is nice to know that there is people here who are going and have gone through the same steps that i am about to take. Any advice during this would be greatly accepted and I thank you all in advance. Good luck to everyone else.
