want to put a 2010 6.0 with a 6L90 trans into my 2001 gmc 2500 hd. it has a 6.0 4L80e currently..what do i need to make this happen? i used to build machines.. so im not intimidated by this.. any clues?
Hey everybody I recently made a trade and ended up with a 99 Tahoe with a 5.7 ltr 350. The truck is really clean but the motor was making noise. I have a 5.3 out of a 03 Tahoe that was wrecked with very low miles on it. I've installed the 5.3 with the whole wiring harness and I fabricated a bracket for the old a/c unit I have everything installed except for the fuse block. The one on the Tahoe is a 32-way F Metri-pack 280 Series and the one on the 5.3 motor is a 68 Way 280 Series BLK. Which I've gottin all that info off this site. But it shows installing just the wires you need for a swap when you don't have everything. My question is does anybody have the schematics for both harnesses so I can hook up everything like factory through the firewall?
Oh and I have both ECM's for the 99 and the 03. the 99 is still hooked up to the truck but the harness and ECM for the 03 is installed also. I just hooked up everything but the speed sensor on the trans and the fuel pump and everything else is still on the old harness.
Bad Scuba, both of your posts are in the wrong forum. This one is to LIST the conversion, not seek tech support. Also, search is your friend on here. You can find out more by searching and reading the posts it lists, than sitting around waiting on someone to respond.
Just starting my build. It will be a long process, but I wanted all the bases covered. Vehicle receiving the LS1 is a 1989 Mazda Rx7 Convertible. Donor car is a 2001 Z28 with T-56 Trans. I plan on using Granny's Speed Shop Conversion kit. Watched it on Power Block TV episode 271. Just pulled out the Rotary engine and trans and pulled the wiring harness out of the bay. Time to clean and prep the bay for a color change.
