2002 Oldsmobile Bravada
Going on 2008 TBSS frame
Used rollover 2004 Buick Rainier for all wiring to retain all interior electronics functionality and have it OBD2.
All TBSS AWD drivetrain except putting LQ4 in it with i6 Trailblazer converter

Current work in progress but nearly complete.

Default LS1 into a 1971 Porsche 914

New,(NOS) crate LS1 , Y (Corvette) motor into a 1971 Porsche 914 with a modified 915, 5 speed trans. Getting help from friends because I don't want to reinvent the wheel.

I don't know that a 915 will hold up. Might need a 930 or G50

Default 1965 Chevy Malibu LS3 - A Body

Hi guys, getting ready to start a LS3 swap on my 1965 Malibu SS. This will be my first attempt and I hope that I haven’t gotten in over my head. Please feel free to comment and provide suggestions.
Starting point:
1965 Malibu SS
Hotchkis Suspension
Rick’s Tank w/in pump fuel pump

Donor 1984 Corvette
I just bought this last week and just have notes on the build provided by the builders exwife.
Built LS3
New 6.2L Block
I don’t have notes on crank just know that it is a 24x crank reluctor and has been “machined”
L92 pistons 10.5:1
Rotating assembly has been balanced
LS2 knock sensor
2002 camaro oil pan - TX speed says this will work in the 65 A body
Comp Cam 54-454-11
cloyes Hex a just timing chain set
Comp Cams 15850-16 roller lifters
Btian Tooley Racing pushrods
Stock LS3 Heads - machined, valves seats machined, LS3 hollow intake valves installed, stock exhaust valves
Stock LS3 intake
90mm edelebrock throttle body

I guess my biggest hurdle is ecu, wiring, etc.
Included with the corvette was an ECU, about a million wires, fuse box. I believe the ecu is out of a 2010 Sierra pickup. Pic provided. My initial thought after reading many post is to have this ecu flashed for my particular setup. I plan on buying a preassembled wiring harness maybe from PSI as I got an ice cream headache just from looking at the box of wires. I’d appreciate any recommendations.

Im not sure what transmission I will be running yet. There was a 4l60e provided with the car but the notes say that it has a 3000-3200 stall, might be a bit radical for the street for me. I have been i talks with American Powertrain about building me a tko600. A T56 would be nice but I don’t plan on cutting the floor as again I am a novice.

I haven’t seen any recent A Body conversions on the forums so any updates or recommendations are highly appreciated. Also, I will be selling the 1984 vette once I pull the motor and trans. Has new C5 wheels, brakes, and suspension. Let me know if ya have any interest. Thanks all

Do yourself a favor and use all of the Holley swap components for A-bodies.

thanks - I would love to use all of the holley components. I do have concerns with their headers however based on the super comps that are on their now. I bought them specific for the car and honestly they were a nightmare to get in, change plugs, etc. Hope the LS ones are better. I have looked at Dougs/Hedmann but not sure since ill be using the holley mounts.

any recommendation on buying a wiring harness for the LS3? Been looking at swapspecialites and psi.

For my 70 El Camino, I went with PSI for an engine harness and American Auto Wire for the body harness. No complaints. I also used the Hooker / Holley Blackheart headers on my El Camino and again, no complaints. They fit like a glove and not once did I feel the need to reach for a large hammer to make them work. And zero trouble for reaching, removing or dealing with the spark plugs.

Current Performance Wiring is worth checking out most of the S10 guys use them for their swaps since they custom build a harness for their application. They also reflash the ecu for your needs.
